That’s slot is for a military fork to slide into when you need to remove it from the heat source without gloves.

I have been using Soap & Water with an abrasive sponge but I will purchase an eraser and try this method. After viewing so many sharpening methods here on KZfaq I have settled on using a Ceramic sharping rod for all my kitchen knives. I cook every day and I keep all my knives sharp enough for my every day needs. IMO, I don't think a Razor Sharp Knife is needed to cut my food! I am able to easily Cut or Chop my meat & Vegetables with My Knives! Yes, I have spent money on several sharpening devices and used different methods but like I said, I now only use the Ceramic Rod or a steel rod to keep all my knives sharp enough for my needs!

Lol it's not cleaning them, You're just putting color to fill in the holes instead of black, now you're rod is filled with rubber😂

I think it's a knockoff.

The dark mark on your knife is the laminate mark😂 not grind marks bro

Thats funny, because this model dont have a laminated Steel. It's Made from 12C27 and NO lamination at all. However, everybody has it's own opinion and I respect that. Cheers, Mike

Easier way clean the rod with Clenser like Ajax.

A minor quibble.... the knife is always a #3. What makes it a 'boat' knife is the sheath style you chose. Note it would take a person of unusual thinking to choose carbon steel over stainless for a 'boat' knife.

You need to add a Russel Grohman outdoor knife. A DH Russel from Canada. They are beautiful, full tang, light, elegant but tough. Just an incredible knife

Love that knife, well done!! Mora have pretty great handles though, was this just for aesthetics? A ‘primitive” concept? What size coin did you use?

Thank you for posting, this is exactly what I was looking for. Question, How would you do this on a knife that has a curly birch handle with brass pins and spacers?
@survivalmike3 ай бұрын
@j.p.4541 Exactly the Same way. Cause the oil won't harm any of those Materials. You can also use a transparent oil If you are curious about any discoloration. Cheers, Mike

My Helle Lapland and Wabikimi both have the tips ground off centre. They are very nice looking knives but I expect more for what I paid for them. Their customer service is also poor. My Wabikimi cut through the sheath when I first inserted it and cut my hand. I contacted customer service and nothing was done.

Nice video and nice knife. I prefer the unserrated one. I have one in coyote brown and want to modify the sheath. I wish it had more of a hammer back than an aggressive Icebreaker point.

I have a Prodigy but it is a non-serrated version. I also have the Strongarm. While they are similar they are also different. I keep the Prodigy in my day pack and the Strong arm stays in the Jeep. I was cutting up a fallen tree with a chain saw and got it pinched. I used the Prodigy and a baton to make a wedge out of a tree limb to drive into the cut so I could pull my chain saw out

Great video. Believe it or not your Spartan is identical to my EDC, Black and even has scratches, Same opinion on the corkscrew V Philips as you. I have it on my key ring and always with me. Never been in a McGyver situation however I am ready. Cheers from Australia.Ps Love the dog.

I have to say, its growing on me as my favourite edc knife. 9/10 times I have plenty enough knife with the Spartan. The awl is the most underrated tool ever. While I have cut myself with the blade, it was due to not paying attention when sharpening. I find if the blade closes on my finger, the force isn't enough to cause a cut.

Silver stag in my personal favorite brand and I'm a pretty hard core knife guy I'm not in to over priced otfs etc i like great users and especially usa made. They literally have bladesmiths forging these knives each is a little different but all quality and they watch what leaves the shop to make sure of it.

Those are not two grind angles, if you where awake you would know that this blade is a laminated steel and has a hard hi carbon core sandwitches in between two softer layers of stainless steel. Only Helle does this!
