What is consider to be a fair tip? Is the tip a per cent age of the base charter amount or the total amount of the trip that includes fuel, food and other expenses paid for by the guest. Is the tip paid by cash ?

Scopalomine for motion sickness if it’s legal for the crew. I know airplane pilots can’t use it but maybe the ship’s non-navigational crew can? idk If not… dymenhydrinate it is. Anyway i’m sure these guys know all this.

Do you do anything to keep the fuel stabilized and flush the engines and stuff?
@motoryachtloon20 сағат бұрын
The engines got a good flush prior to going up in the rack. As we use Rec90 fuel, we don't put in any additives, but we do fill the tank up 100% to stop condensation from forming in the fuel tank. 🤙

Check into FAA Part 107; It covers commercial drone use, a 107 pilot maybe able to request a waiver to fly under a certain altitude close to airport in the USA.

All the snappy and frequent transitions to B roll and short B roll clips are still a bit much for me. Pauls got a lot of great things to say. Im happy to watch just him for good chunks of time with some judicious use of b roll. Cutting to the fuel tanker for example was a timely and nice use of B roll. I like this channel for learning about how the industry works and the story telling.

Just curious but why do you need so many engines on that tender? Do you ever need to really open it up and drive really fast if it's just a tender?

@motoryachtloonКүн бұрын
The white ones that originally came with the HCB had a warranty issue. But due to our schedule we couldn’t wait so we put on some loaners from HCB for the winter while our new one got painted. Now it’s time to swap them back 🤙

Wondering why have 2 boats like this? Since they can be stored in Loon's garage why not keep it to 1?
@motoryachtloonКүн бұрын
The chase boats can't come on board as they're too big and heavy. In the tender garage, we have our rescue tender, our beach lander, and our wake boat. There are a few reasons to have 2: - We can't tow the boats across the Atlantic due to insurance, wear and tear, and excess fuel burn. So then we have to ship them. In the past, we have found shipping the tenders to be very hard on the boats, and shipping companies are often delayed, affecting Loon's schedule - both the chase boats serve different purposes. The HCB in the Caribbean is the more sports tender we use to fish and dive. It also has outboard engines, which we can trim up to allow us to go into the shallow waters of the Caribbean islands we visit. The Anvera in the Mediterranean is the more limousine tender. It's stylish and fast, powered by Yanmar 370hp inboards, giving the guests a great ride. Also, not having outboards across the transom allows us to dock stern in small Mediterranean fishing ports, allowing our guests to embark and disembark more easily.

The final crew meeting with the discussion about the difficult guests and the tipping issue, is very enlightening. Not only does it show how much Captain Paul (still needs an eye patch and a stuffed parrot on his shoulder) has his crew's back. It shows the boat owner is just as good a person! No way do they leave that stuff in the final cut WITHOUT permission from the boss. I bet the owner had just as much difficulty with those guests as the crew did, and he/she wanted to call them out on their B.S. Tipping is such a polarizing topic in today's world, and while I won't go into my personal opinion on the topic, I will say that I'm sure those guests treat everyone they encounter the same way. Hopefully, they won't be back on the ship, or if they do - it'll be more like an apology tour than a holiday.
