This is a Rod Clements song and arguably many of Lindisfarne's classic songs were written by him. Back in the day the NE were all classed as Geordies until John Hall came along and stole the name to create his "Geordie Nation". Thankfully I'm a Barbary Coaster from the banks of the River Wear, never heard of mackems, never will be a mackem. Alan Hull was probably one of the greatest songwriters in the UK, check out his solo albums. I saw him play an outstanding solo gig in old Sunderland Labour Club. A few months later Lindisfarne played South Shields Marine park. For some reason he decided to celebrate the Mags success at the time and got roundly booed, lol.

I remember watching this performance and I must say they tied with Carlos Santana and were much better than Bob Dylan who frankly was not that interested on the day.

Love it I bought it. I remember hearing it on the radio then a pub/club and had to buy it, was so different. I was into Soul & Funk but this had something groovy and funky about it. I remember buying from Woolworths in Dartford Kent. Then found out Trevor Horn was behind it. What a genius
