Where's the 3 story hole in the ground to accommodate all the Library visitors, staff parking and general public that have to visit the council?

Hi Peter, there will be a level of underground parking at the building and Council will develop a new car park between the current library site and the Hervey Bay PCYC for use by both staff and the community. While parking studies have shown there are a significant number of existing car parks in the area, Council is also actively exploring additional parking options within the Hervey Bay City Centre.

to be honest the funds that were put into this could have been put into feeding the poor guys actually living rugh (i work minimum wage and try and give leftovers to the homeless just to help)

Great ! just another road for the hoons of Hervey Bay to scream up and down on, at night. Something needs to be done now about these idiots! Be for these hoons kill someone! Also let's hope it stops the surrounding streets from being rat races. The amount of traffic has been unbearable.

We lived here about 60 years ago. As migrants, my parents thought that this would be a good place to live, after arriving at Hervey Bay. The weather is good for older people, but there was never any employment. We eventually moved away at great personal expense. Good luck with promoting Maryborough, but it will have to be something more than a museum (too many already exist in Australia) to entice people to live here.

Maryborough has a lot of History, but the future looks a little bleak as very few young people are interested in past era's. Maryborough itself is good to come back to, and it still has the sense of an unchanging time. The problems here are similar to all communities, but once Maryborough boasted to be the millionaire's capital, per head per population of its residents. I personally preferred Maryborough back wen I was growing up in the 60's, all innocent and carefree, for the times are a changing....

I live in Maryborough QLD AUSTRALIA. this picture is not of Maryborough. I do not recognise this place. The hill in the background is a dead giveaway. There are no hills like this in or around Maryborough.

Lots of photos there are nothing to do with Maryborough - but that is probably the point, as they want locals to envision popular places like that and try and recreate similar venues in Maryborough. I grew up in Maryborough, and no longer live there but I do visit the Wide Bay-Burnett region quite regularly. I have seen Maryborough decline in many ways, so I wish the Council all the best regarding any attempts to invigorate my home town.
