when I press "A" it just makes my controller take over player 1. i booted up the game only using mouse and keyboard and never touched my controller until my solo game was loaded. I'm using a switch controller through Steam. The controller works fine in-game but I really want split screen.

Sorry, I have never tried a Switch controller. Maybe try seeing if you can change the layout for your controller. When pressing A, you should get the menu in the upper right hand corner allowing you to select your character.

This game play was solo, but we have also hosted a game while playing split-screen and having other people join.

@@bruceleroy5585 Yes, it does save the player status. When you add the 2nd player, you will have the option which character to select.

This was from a solo game, but I've done both where I hosted a game, played split-screen and had my kids join.

That is super wack, doubt ill even buy/play it then, such a shame but that is what got me & mine into the game to begin with, honesty rhe game is boring playing alone, an i don't want to play co-op with someone somewhere else, Don't they realize couples & roommates & family live together & want to have games to play together? It isn't gonna hurt sales, if anything it will help them because split screen games are an untapped market, tons of people would love to play split screen video games together, if they are good, but they just don't make them. The updated 7 days to die was one of the good ones that has tons of potential to keep couples, etc. playing for a long time, But if they are thinking think that it hurts sales an that these couples etc. Will go out an buy 2 of everything 2 games, 2 consoles, 2 tvs, + all the additional special equipment needed to be able to make it possible to play in the same house, they are out of thier minds & delusional, These people just won't buy an will be left out, so they won't get those sales at all. Hude waste of an opportunity if they really do not add the split screen.

Ah the gold old days. Fucking around with my brother and getting killed by him (I'm the youngest and he had Palpatine and wouldn't stop shocking me) and of course, replaying "Battle over Coruscant" and "Geonosian Arena" over and over again.

I have a steam deck dock and everything I need how do I get this to work it won’t so far anyway the controller I plug it registers as mine and can’t add player ? Tried not touching a button till I try add the thing on top left don’t pop up using a ps4 controller

The PS controllers can be a hit and miss. We have used Xbox One/Series controllers without any issues. Also does the controller appear in your settings? Controller settings (Steam > Settings > Controller)

If this is for the Xbox, try restarting the console. Log into both accounts before starting the game, then start the game.

Yeah, the controls are exactly as you described. When we played the original two back in the day, we had the same issue as well. You will need to play the game consistently to help get acclimated to the controls.

Have a problem with splitscreen: how can a second Player join the game? It is complicated because after the dialogue field it does not continue with a second player

1. Quit the game completely 2. Launch game. 3. Press A for Split-Screen (Player 1) 4. On the left of the screen select 'Add Split-Screen' and press A (Player 1) 5. Then you should be prompted for 'Splitscreen join', now press A (Player 2) 6. Select Xbox account and that should do it.

Fun video guys! I love couch co-op and my wife and I have played all the "lands" games but this one and Wonderlands were catastrophies for couch co-op. It really makes us much less excited for Borderlands 4 when it's obvious that the developers have stopped caring about the split screen experience.

I can't give you an answer since I don't have a capture card between my console and TV, but I can tell you that I played the game on the XB1 (Gen1) and XSX and the game flows (minimal lag) and looks substantial better on the XSX.

There's a quick tutorial race you need to complete when you first start the game. After that you should get the Single and Multiplayer option.

Yeah, that's probably due to the lower system requirement of resources back in 2012 (Xbox 360) and we are playing on an Xbox Series X, thanks.
