Hi teacher, thsnks for responding to my comments. In my opinion, it's much better to say "I have never travelled by train" to talk about the train experience rather than saying i have never gone on a train. Because NEVER GONE gives the idea that you're not on the train now. To give the idea that" from the past until now," you have to use the verb Been. I am sure, you don't want to say that you are not on the train now .That's why native speakers always say I have never been on a train or on a plane. As you know, we never say, I have never gone to Paris. Because you're not in Paris now. You're in Sri Lanka now. If you're in Sri Lanka now, how can you say I have never gone to Paris? If I give you an example, where's Kamal? He has gone to India. According to this example, he is in India now. After coming back from India, kamal can say I have been to India. Because kamal is in Sri Lanka now. I definitely know that" I have never gone to Paris" was a mistake made by you. That's why you refrained from making any comments about that sentence (I have never gone to Paris). I work as a national guide with native speakers from the UK and Australia. Next week, I have a tour. So I'll ask them whether I have never gone on a train is correct. If you confuse been with gone, it's better to say I have never visited Paris. I' ve been to lots of places in Sri Lanka. Or I have visited many places Sri Lanka.

Hi teacher, which sentence is correct: I have never gone on a train or I have never been on a train? I am sure we have never gone to Paris is broken English. It should be, " We have never been to Paris."
@LingoLite-YT17 күн бұрын
Both sentences are grammatically correct, but they have slightly different nuances: "I have never gone on a train." : This focuses more on the action of traveling or taking a trip by train. "I have never been on a train." : This emphasizes the experience of being on a train at any time. * In most contexts, especially in conversational English, "I have never been on a train" is more commonly used and sounds more natural. *** The verb 'gone' is used to help understand these sentences easily. I will explain this through another video.

1. I have never gone to Colombo 2. I have never been to Kandy. BEEN යෙදුම ද අයත් වන්නේ I have never + past participle of a verb + other parts of the sentence යැ යි පෙනේ.
@LingoLite-YT17 күн бұрын
Yes, both sentences are correct: "I have never gone to Colombo." "I have never been to Kandy." These sentences use the present perfect tense to indicate that at no point up to the present have you visited Colombo or Kandy. This tense is appropriate for talking about life experiences that haven't happened. *"been" is commonly used and sounds natural. The verb 'gone' is used to make these sentences easier to understand. I will explain this through another video.

Have you ever baught a car ? ඔබ කවදා හෝ කාර් රියක් මිල දී ගෙන තිබේ ද ? No, I have never ! නැහැ, මා කිසි දිනෙක නැහැ! ලෙස කිව හැකි වනු ඇත!

When responding to a question that uses the "I have never" pattern, you can answer by sharing your experience. Examples: Affirmative Response Question: "Have you ever been to Paris?" Answer: "Yes, I have been to Paris. It's a beautiful city with so much history and culture." Negative Response Question: "Have you never tried sushi?" Answer: "No, I have never tried sushi. I'm curious about it." By using these patterns, you can effectively respond to questions that use the "I have never" format.
