Just so viewers know. I don’t know what country this takes place in. In America, ravens are a Federally protected species. We cannot own them as pets, educational animals, foster parents, zoo residents, or treat them for sickness or injuries without applying for the proper Federal and State permits. The permits are very specific as to purpose, and the law is very serious about enforcement. Just wanted to add this information.
@Bird-friendАй бұрын
Yes absolutely correct! Lilly is an African Pied Crow x African Brown Necked Raven Hybrid. She was also the three eyed raven on Game Of Thrones. Non native birds can be used commercially but native birds cannot. Our native raptors are under education, abatement, propagation and falconry and falconry school licenses and have special rules associated with each permit.

The two Covid’s in my care (Lilly 20 & Romeo 15) both say “Good Boy”. Romeo also just started saying “Are you ok? “ and “ Do you want to go? “. After 15 years he just started to say something different one day. I’ve had lots of parrot experience too and it’s very interesting what they do and do not pick up phrase wise.

Hi. Do falcons have to tear out their beaks and talons, like eagles do (i.e. to allow for new talons and beaks tongrow)?😢
@Bird-friend2 ай бұрын
They lose their feathers 🪶 each year during their annual molt. It usually takes 6-8 weeks to get all their new feathers in. The beak and talons are kind of like human fingernails in the way they grow.
@OmarAbdulMalikDHEdMPASPACPAPro2 ай бұрын
@@Bird-friend Thanks for that answer. Do the beaks and talons need trimming?
@Bird-friend2 ай бұрын
@@OmarAbdulMalikDHEdMPASPACPAPro Good question. Trimming the beaks and talons is avoided with my birds unless absolutely necessary. It’s called coping with falconry. I’ve found that once you start trimming bird beaks it needs to be done more regularly. In some cases when the bird is having trouble eating or closing its mouth I will snip off the tip of the beak ( the part that is causing the issue), but it’s rare. I find also when the bird gets over supplemented with vitamins they tend to need coping more often . I’ll try to post a video showing how I do it without restraining the bird. Thanks for watching!

Long weekend because kids are over worked...practice throughout the week followed by some BS "tournament" where they are forced to play 2-3 times per day on Sat and Sun. This is why most American kids are sick of football when they reach 16. Plus the inordinate amount of ACL injuries both male and female players suffer in their teens compared to normal football countries! It's almost like they are overworked without appropriate rest periods! They money hungry USSF and the clowns organizing this bullshit tournaments are the real problem with US "soccer"

@Bird-friend3 ай бұрын
Don’t apologize. I learn every day. It’s done to make a mostly black bird so they can pass for a raven or crow in education and media. There are many rules with the native birds due to the Migratory Bird Act that don’t apply to non native species.

HE IS A MALE NOT FEMALE 🙄😳🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Bird-friend4 ай бұрын
Hi! I’ve heard this comment before and wondered why? She’s been DNA tested by zoogen. I’m sure she’s female according to that test. Corvids generally display sexual dimorphism through size like raptors I believe. Unlike raptors with corvids the males are larger. Our male of the same species is 800 g and she is 650 g so her size also points to female. What makes you think this is a male? I’ve had her for 20 years now.
