@@redonsundays when my screen went black it felt like it was black forever but really it was only for a fraction of a second. Still very scary

@@J_G_2 yea that was unfortunate. I cut it out but Flavio might have been right. Maybe I should have stayed out and just followed him until the pits opened. Would have done only one stop. Not sure how much better I would have finished though.

@Littleblueneon I have trips and the past month I have been having the same issue, blacking out, but it's just on my center screen. It is Nvidia surround that's my issue, when I turn off surround it stops.

@@dewimccar9780 interesting. This has happened to me maybe only 2-3 times in the 9 years I have been on iracing, it's very rare. I race in full screen and after the screen came back it was on windowed

@@dewimccar9780 I found it was actually G-SYNC that was causing the blackouts - not nvidia surround. I turned off G-SYNC and they stopped dying mid race. And am still able to use Surround

@sogeoffsoclean thx, that's good to know, I haven't tried that yet. But so far this week, it's been running normally for me with gsync on and using surround. If it hits again, I definitely try that.

Thanks Jason, yea that's the nature of a draft track unfortunately. I was just barely having onto your guys draft and was able to pull away from the guys behind. I was pretty comfortable with that. Unfortunately the couple incidents that slowed me down enough to get the guys behind to catch back up put me back in a fight I had hoped to not be in, lol. All and all I can't be too sad about how I finished, I believe I finished where I qualified. Maybe I could have done a bit better if I had attacked Jeff again and not waited for the last corner, hard to say though.

Those corners are so tough. I'm trying to cut it as close as I can without hitting the sausage curbs. I had noticed hitting them bounces the car and the car loses drive out of the corner and I ended up being slower.

Hopefully you'll have better luck in the next season! Midfield in the Vee's are usually fighting very hard which leads to crashes which also makes it hard to avoid the crashes when they do occur 😞

@@megumei044 I'm 70 years old and do this for fun. I have never joined any racing series, I just drive whatever I qualify for. I've been driving iRacing for three years. I like open wheel cars mostly. I know this track inside out. Since I am a C driver I never get to race against guys who have better skills. Most of my races I start in the back and fight my way up the front. I have a bunch of top fives doing that. I looks like fun racing against A drivers, they know when to brake !

It was! That imi field section was so rough. I have seen it used once before at least in the Mazda advanced Cup series. This was my first time racing on it.

@@Littleblueneon you were doing really good for sure! The 87's are a brutally hard car to drive in the sim and you were moving through the field.

@@megumei044 I had forgot how trick they can be to drive even at Daytona. When I came out of the pits I had planned to just chill behind P4. I didn't plan to move up past them and lead the pack but they made mistakes or crashed so I just kept going forward. I low key wanted to help push like P2 to a win but he crashed.

@@Littleblueneon The key to the 87's is how fast can you go slow. The better you save your tires the better your pace will be in the final laps of the race.

Mondays, the first race of the week is the SoF race and then there is a Thursday SoF race that is more Euro friendly. I have been racing the SRF for years now, it's my favorite car and my go to. The regulars that race the series are a great and friendly bunch too!

@@Littleblueneon one time I was in a srf race and a bunch of fast guys showed up so that must have been this group

It's incredibly frustrating to have my race end so quickly. I said I was done for the rest of the season when the same thing happened at Belle Isle. I had such a great start to the season that these last two races ending on lap one makes it all the more frustrating. Not to mention what happened in the FF1600 race that runs just before the SRF race. The frustration has been building as the season comes to an end and it hasn't been very fun.
