Many years before this show, Peter & Youssou were promoting Amnesty International in Africa, with Springsteen & Tracey Chapman. I joined AI - it did some good things back then……. And I was captured by this arrangement (knew the song from the movie) and by “Biko.” Me & Youssou & Peter are all a lot older now… the world faces racial & religious hatred I could never have imagined! My heart is broken, my mind is angry, and I have no patience with those who kill for greed, for religion, for military profit. So I’m hiding here, with my video friends from a time when people tried to care for each other, rather than have mass murder for profit…. Will we collectively survive? Should I want to keep fighting against powerful and venal idiots? I think I will just keep singing this, and “Biko” and say my prayers. Not much else can be done……we have already tried it all. 😢🙏🏻💔
