Hi Sue, almost midnight in Western Australia, in spare room, recovering from cold 😉 ironically, in my once per fortnight game, I've been working on the hip turn. Even when I could play the game, I struggled to turn my hips. Then, due to lack of coordination 😖 my lateral hip movement to start the downswing turned into a full upper body lunge 😱 This is finally helping me see the wood from the trees 😊 Hope all is well 🙏

What changes if the ball is below your feet, on a down slope?
@ChangeGolfInstruction
@ChangeGolfInstruction 14 күн бұрын
Good question. They are always tricky shots. You definitely need more angle from your hips (to give your swing enough up-and-down to get to the ball. But if it is a steeper slope, you may need more knee bend than usual.

I have come to the conclusion after watching this.. play clock system like tiger woods says is better.. because that would give every individual club a rang and rotation of its own.. . A faster Speed for every club only puts you back where you started .. 🤔 Unless your talking changing club speed every club that's ridiculous
@ChangeGolfInstruction
@ChangeGolfInstruction 15 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment. No, that is not what I'm suggesting. Players with a slow clubhead speed are often unable to differentiate between clubs (in terms of distance they hit them) because there is not enough speed in their swing. It's not about controlling distance -- it's about getting it/any to begin with,
@marioavalos2831
@marioavalos2831 15 күн бұрын
Stupid so you're saying. If you increase speed the clubs will go different distances.. retarded.. are you suggesting you increase it individually for every club.. otherwise why would one swing go further than the other.. you're not making sense

I have been saying this all over you tube. Personally, I choke down on the bottom of the grip, use a firm stiff putting stroke, and don't be scared to hit it. Works best when you have very little back swing, and little to no follow thru, and you want to make up as much distance as you can. Thank you for agreeing.

@@nochance4264 Ha ha. Thanks for the comments 😉. But not so fast. We choke when the working memory is too active. By thinking about something else -- like your favorite pizza -- the working memory focuses on that and you'll be able to complete another task -- putting -- automatically. It's that automaticity that reduces choking. If you want to learn about how choking works scientifically, I suggest you read Sian Beilock's book, Choke. Or you can stay ill informed. Your choice 👍🏻

As always, super helpful. A recent visual check/feel I've been working on is lead elbow pointing to the ground when arms are parallel in the follow through. I have a tendency to hold shots off, where my elbow points behind me (left of target for a right had golfer). Getting that external rotation of the lead arm to square the clubface allows you to get the club reliably square using your bigger muscles, which is far more consistent than trying to manipulate the clubface with your hands/wrists. Spot on as always!
