For the past 10 years my wife and I have been driving our Nissan Altima with a straw stuck that tiny hole. I never had it fixed because I was under the impression a new gear shift system was an $800-$1200 repair. As of tonight the straw has been retired. After watching your video I ordered the part and fixed my wonderful old Nissan Altima. Thank you so much!

Do u need this? Is it possible to just completely remove it? My key hole has been completely stripped out just bought a 2006. Wanting to know if i can just remove it all together or if i should get it replaced

Thanks bud, family member parked their car in the opening of my driveway and just left it there after they couldn't get it started. I couldn't get it out of gear, this helped me push it out of the way.

Thanks so much, i have a 2005 altima, was driving set on cruse, i noticed the cruise disengaged. I lost my fan blower too, not power on the fan or ac controls. I pulled into the gas station and was unable to put my car in park while it was still running. I can shift to N or 1 2 3, but not R or P. Ive turned to car off in position 1 on the turn key ignition but can't get the key out or in 0 on the ignition. I was able to check all fuses umder the dash and in the engine bay as well relays. All seem fine. Now with your help I've got the shifter in park but with the battery disconnect i can get the key out....... It's strange that all three issues happend simulaniusly for sure they're all linked bdut where? So again cruse will power on the wheel but cant set it, my fan blower has not power on the dial, and i can't get my car to shift from park or get the key out. Any help would be amazing, side note. The day before i was trying to fix the notorious Day ti,e running light moduale as it was faulty 8 months ago, high beams not working right, i checked the mini relays in the pcb module and they seem fine, re soldered the borad joints and still issues with the high beams. Again not worried about that right now, more so the shifting issue.

This ended up fixing mine! For the longest time I couldn’t figure out what was wrong as it would get stuck sometimes and then other times work perfectly fine no blown fuses or bad brake light switch so I ended up getting another shift control module as shown in the video out of another car in a junkyard for 2$. I waited to install it until the car acted up to make sure it would fix my problem and when the shifter got stuck I installed it and so far so good. 2$ part from junkyard, $90 new. So good luck to anyone trying to fix this and thanks for the video.

I checked fuse and it was good. Popped that little silver piece off by the gear shifter and stuck screwdriver in hole and it unlocked shifter. Thanks, Thanks, and Thanks again.

My Nissan Altima 2005 takes up to 2 minutes to engage from park to drive when the engine is Cold, but run normal after then. Please any idea what's going on

I've got an 06 maxima, it's located behind the fuse block under the dash. it took forever to figure this one out. The forums and blogs have sooo many different reasons why you can't shift and how to bypass the problem. Its better to solve the problem or you're just going to make more things go wrong.
