I do wonder what year it was when 5972 had the Hogwarts Castle nameplates permanently attached... before 2013 so maybe 2012 2011

I remember when 3 years later in 2019 we saw both 48151 and 45690 Leander double heading a trip to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Unsure why they could haul 9 coaches but one steam loco can only haul 6 or depending on it's size 4.

I think some layouts need to slow the locomotives down to more of a scale speed 😳 I think Bindon Halt is the offender but a great effort from the modeller just slow things down

Thanks for the kind words Steve. I went out unprepared with no plan and arrived as the exhaust appeared next to the old coaling stage. Plus I was hanging on to the tripod and shaking for some reason. Hoping to make a better job on Tuesday. Kind regards Frank.

It was lovely to get out with you today Dad, glad my two shots were of use. Shame for the people on board with Scots Guardsman failing but they still get to see the lovely countryside on a relatively rare, clear and sunny day. I'm looking forward to the next one - Rach 😊 xx
@TheDoodyman12 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rach. Your two shots were actually better than mine so I'm glad you came. Not least for reminding me I'd left the unused tripod on the footbridge. And for reminding me where I live so I could get home afterwards. Dad x

What a disaster! All those people on board who been anticipating this steam ride for weeks! And photographers who sometimes travel miles to see steam . . . Pity they can't notify RTT and get it publicised!
@TheDoodyman12 жыл бұрын
I know, Alan. It must have been pretty galling for those on board to see Leander going well in the opposite direction. They would have passed each other around Lancaster. Kind regards Frank.

Interesting that that has 12 (with an observation salmon on the rear) when a Jubilee had 13. Clearly they don't think the steam leak there's been lately from the right hand cylinder any cause for concern, though much of that steam was from the Sanders
