thanks for this. I still can't believe that there is not a way to switch this feature on and off in the preferences. that would make this "new" feature more powerful and useful. Now we have a bunch of duplicates.

Hi Helen. How would you apply this to text, or a more complex image? I figure you can't apply a radial gradient, thus gaussian blur would be an effective solution for creating the halftone, but using the blur means you can't change the amount of black in the gradient to increase spacing. Any ideas?

I’m so sorry that the sound isn’t working for you. Unfortunately I can’t do the sound again without pulling down the video and losing all of its views. KZfaq has no feature allowing you to replace tracks. It sucks but it’s the way it is. That said, I just listened to that video and I don’t understand what the problem is with the soundtrack? It sounds OK to me.

Is there a contract feature in Illustrator like they do in Photoshop? I don't see it anywhere.

You can select the object and choose Object, Path, Offset Path, and then use a negative value. That will create a contracted shape. Does that help?

Helen, my apology, this question is off topic. What are your opinions of Affinity's graphic art suite?

I don’t use Affinity myself right now but… they do have a current deal where you can get the software version two for free for six months, I think it is. They don’t charge you unless at the end of the period of time you want to buy it. You don’t give a credit card or anything. I think it’s a really good time to look at Affinity and see if it’s going to work for you. There are three versions - there’s a desktop publishing, a Vector program like illustrator and a photo editor like Photoshop. So you can download all of them (I just did today) and give them a test. That’s pretty much the best information I can give you right now. I hope it helps.
