Hi all Archers fans. Up to date news ~ Grey Gables is up for sale £1.5m. It's approximately 19 miles from Sunderland. It was previously a vicarage, so Shula would feel at home 😊 😊😊 😊😊😊

I have to admit that as a gay man very much on the wrong side of 40 I haven't and am not likely to experience miscarriage (although my late mother did). Also, I am very upset with Fallon, however, if I look objectively at what is going on I think that she can't, or won't, discuss or accept what Harrison is going through because she is going through exactly the same thing - but she also has an inner turmoil that she's doesn't (or didn't) want children and she is confused by the fact that this loss has hit her harder than she thought it would. Acknowledging Harrison's feelings will force her to acknowledge her own feelings and she can't, won't or is afraid to do that - so it's easier to try to ignore, push away, or ignore Harrison than come to terms with her own feelings

For years, fans of the Archers have been pleading with the scriptwriters to give the Grundy family some financial success and some dignity and to stop making them look like fools all the time . They clearly aren’t listening. I am usually extremely tolerant of even ridiculous storylines, but I must say, I’m becoming very tired of the downer Grundy story. Let’s have a storyline where Ed and Emma make smart, well thought out decisions, and develop a super successful tree surgery business; there, done and dusted. Enjoy your very well deserved break!

The first thing I remember seeing Lucy Speed in was Dodgem, a kids' TV series from the early 90s. She starred alongside Sean Maguire and also John Telfer, aka Vicar Alan!

Phillipa I do think you are being a little hard on Fallon of late, she has suffered a significant trauma, a life threatening event as defined in the DSM 5 and is actually doing the right thing by sticking to routines and talking about the event with supportive and trusted people. Harrison has experienced a distressing and upsetting event but it is not the same as trying to recover from a near drowning and he is failing to give Fallon the support she needs because he is so caught up in his own narrative around becoming a parent. We should cut Fallon a little slack 🤗

Of all the Archers' cast you've interviewed Susie is the one I would say is the least like her alter ego. I pictured Tracy as big, busty and rather rough looking with broad features. Yet here we see that Susie is a slim, elegant lady with a voice totally different to that of Tracy's. That's good acting for you!😊

Love the podcast, it's great to hear the different thoughts on what's going on in The Archers. I don't think George will confess but I can't believe there hasn't been much of an investigation into the crash. Everyone seems to be completely dismissive of Alice's recollections and the alcopop/fruit cider bottles in the car! Looking forward to him getting his comeuppance!

Loved the litany of the food, too funny! Philippa, one of these days you’re going to get them all, and there will be rejoicing in heaven 😂 I follow a canal boat woman on KZfaq and canal boats typically have a portion of the hull and cabin body out of the water. They are challenging to steer in sharp corners and collisions do occur that are usually cosmetic damage.

Thank you so much Jan, that’s helpful to know about canal boats, I didn’t realise!

Have to admit to not listening to the Archers for ages, so when this came up I thought I'd see what was happening. It's definitely not an 'everyday story of country folk' any more! Why does everything have to be over-dramatic and gritty these days? Most villages have things happening - even the tiny village in Scotland where my father's family lived has its fair share of drama, but what Ambridge goes through these days is just ridiculous. I used to listen because it felt generally comfortable, familiar and interesting. Now it's a roller coaster ride of crime, manipulation and greed. Am I wrong?
@AllAboutTheArchers-vv8jzАй бұрын
When you look back at all the dramatic moments over the years, from Grace dying in the fire early on, it shows that there are moments of high drama and moments of calm too, hold on - we will have calm again at some point!
@Roo-s_LifeАй бұрын
Poor mental health and alcoholism can drive you so low and into a spiral of catastrophising. It is so difficult for the sufferer and all those around them. Alice is representative of so many sufferers, there's no rational thinking or reasoning. It's a very tough hole to climb out of. I think everyone is forgetting that Alice did not and has never driven drunk. What's driving her so low is the belief that she did, that she can't remember and the consequences of what she believes are her actions but in fact had George not got involved she would have slept it off and the accident would never have happened 😢😢

I read some of the comments on FB, and thought “it’ll never live up to that”. But it did! What a lovely bloke he is (in fact all interviewees have been great). This was laugh out loud funny. I usually want a biscuit after All About The Archers (or AAA as it’s now known), but right now I want a mushy peas sandwich.
