With all of Claire’s infuriating moments, I think she will always be a favorite character. She and Nate’s relationship hit me in a deeper way, being the youngest in my family and having an unknown and tumultuous relationship with my oldest sibling. When Claire was telling Ted in the car about how she kept on thinking about when Nate wouldn’t let her interview him for school as “the person you know the least in your family” after he had died instead of the good times, that profoundly affected me. And during this scene where Nate is starting the conversation of Claire leaving California and moving on with her life. Right afterwards, she gets in her “lime green” hearse and drives away, just to total it after hitting a deer, feels even more impactful. As that car, which I get myself attached to even, is unsalvageable. That is symbolic of Claire leaving behind her teenage hood and this life in California. The first time we see her in her new car is when she is driving off to New York during the finale. Even though Claire and Nate have a clear relationship, I feel like we don’t get to see them interact as much. This is especially apparent to me when Claire has visions of Nate after he dies constantly. And he is constantly giving her advice, moving her along, asking the deep questions. My favorite moment in this show is when we see Nate running in her car mirror, eventually getting behind and is no longer seen. Nate’s (and their father’s) ghost, the death and disaster of the funeral home that was once her own, Ruth encouraging her to leave…. This is the most meaningful growing up and getting over it story I have seen.

What a great show this was. The writing, direction, acting - the whole execution of it was so good. Highest quality

It’s such fucking fantastic writing and acting. I love the fact that it’s so very clear that these are Brenda’s thoughts. That “square watermelon” comment and even his mannerisms scream Brenda instead Nate. So it still feels like Nate is gone at this point (because he is)

I didn’t LOVE this show like most people who watched it. I can appreciate its nuisances but ultimately it was just okay. But I get people who love it. I will say I love this scene tho and it’ll always be memorable to me. So much good detail

This was one of the worst shows i've ever watched in my entire life. I guess that's what hbo had at the time, so people put this high on the list because there wasn't so much going on in the early 2000s (besides The Sopranos)
@TEEANVEEАй бұрын

What a shitty ending they gave Russell. He started being kind of a dark character but then they turned in the typical wacky loser of a sitcom or a teen com movie... so disapointing

Wanna know something cool on the subject of embalming? Well, Abraham Lincoln’s coffin was opened 4 times since he was shot through the head, and it turns out that he was embalmed so well that every time it was opened, including the most recent one hundred years ago, people could look inside and say “Yeah! That still looks like President Lincoln.”

it was one of the most unexpected shocking deaths in a series, the fact that the surgery was almost impossible and that the writer prepared us for his death then shockingly he get through the surgery and live but then when we were expecting him to recover and leave the hospital he dies just like that
@mikeg24916 ай бұрын
This happened to my grandmother, she ended up in the hospital and sedated for days, we didn’t think she’d make it. Woke up out of it and seemed on the mend, laughing, going through the hospital menu like at a restaurant, having nice conversations about life. Then boom got the text from my mother the next morning she passed in the night.
