Got a question. I know this probably premature but how much rotation are you putting the adjusters from the original position? Up / down? I've heard 3/8 1/2 in 5/8 of rotation from original position. To get more rotation out of lift. If that makes sense? Thank you
@69bajaoutdoors2 күн бұрын
Thank you for the inquiry. I am honestly not sure just yet. I’m not adding the adjusters for more lift as Mud Cricket has 3” lift spindles already. My current beam has four individual spring packs and one side is drooping about an inch. I replaced the spring packs on the drivers side to raise it to match the passenger side but that did not change the ride height. It was still drooping an inch. That said, the purpose of the new adjustable beam is to even that issue out, not necessarily to lift the Baja. So, I’ll probably set them at the stock location (or a bit less) with full lift capability. But I honestly won’t know until I install the new ball joints to find full travel specs. I’m thinking about adding hook and rod stops as well.

@69bajaoutdoors15 күн бұрын
The South Branch runs for 50 miles. It starts from Budd Lake, a few miles northeast of Hackettstown. The river flows out of Morris County, down the middle of Hunterdon County, and along the western edge of Somerset County in northwest NJ.
@johnnygump890912 күн бұрын
@@69bajaoutdoors I know where the south branch is i'm very curious of the x marks the spot spot My brother and I literally are just learning to fly fish and have no good spots to fish. I live central jersey usually fish the north branch but it seems that river is over fished and depleted. I'd love to try some of these spots that you are fishing. Like what road or town where the X is on the road and you park and fish so close to the river. I'd love to go there and really see my fly fishing skills.

@vayabroder72917 күн бұрын
That beam you reworked came out absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I have a question: I’ve seen cars with just one set of adjusters on one of the horizontal tubes. Is that supposed to be like that or are adjusters meant to be installed on both sets of torsion bars?
@69bajaoutdoors17 күн бұрын
Thank you for the kind words! A stock beam only has two grub screws for the torsion packs. Mud Crickets’ front beam is 6” wider than stock. So, her beam is made from two separate beams that are cut 3” off center. It has the stock grub screws in the stock locations for each beam, which is why there are four grub screws. I will be building a new beam for her very soon! Hope that answers your question. 😎

Howdy. Won't having all that weight of the 'fart can' flapping around un-supported lead to exhaust pipe breakage ? Might it be better to rotate it around 90 degress so it points to the side & support it off a header pipe... kinda like Scat do with their 'Racing Baja Merge' exhaust systems ?

You can put Zerk fittings on the shock towers and pump them full of grease inside; that helps with rust prevention. It is better to refurbish OEM parts rather than buying the new replacements available now.
