I wanted the Death Star so badly for Christmas 1978 from Santa….instead I got a baseball and baseball bat. Held onto that dream for 38 years until I finally got one, complete but no box, in 2016. I completely agree that it is number one on the list

I think for the most part, I think I expected those rankings, as the Ewok Village and the Deathstar are really the top playsets for the Star Wars line. I don't have all the playsets, but I did have 5 of them in your top list, though I still sort of struggle with Jabba the Hutt being a playset. The Creature Cantina holds a real soft spot in my heart as it is the only one I had as a kid, so good to see it hit your top 10. One thing to note on the durability of the Deathstar, is that it is really difficult to find a cannon that does not have broken tips, you are fortunate that yours are not broken, though I wince everytime I see that clip of you pushing the action feature of it falling off, and worry the tips will break.

I enjoy your videos but really enjoyed these top playset videos. I agree with you that only until I started collecting as an adult did I ever realize that some of these playset existed. Are you planning on doing a “Top” list of vehicles, similar to your playset list? I hope you do!!

Never really thought much of the Land of the Jawas set, but it is pretty cool. Will start getting a few playsets after I complete my collection of figures, that set will be one them. Great video.

I agree with the No. 1, the Death Star playset is a gem! But I was disappointed not to see the Millennium Falcon being the No.1 as I consider it the ultimate playset! So glad that you have managed to get all the sets, and to share this journey with all of us!

Great info and outstanding presentation! My only constructive criticism would be: in the cases where the figure is from your childhood or was gifted to you, if you could say how much "similar" ones (condition/accessories) are going for, that would be most beneficial! I'm going through my childhood collection for the first time since the 90s, and find your videos incredibly useful as a resource. Kudos on the great production as a whole!

Technically, the Imperial Attack Base was in the film, except it should have called Echo Base. Not my favorite playset, as I wished for a more elaborate Cloud City playset. We had to settle for the Sears version.

Hey Joey, great video. Although I would put the palitoy death star at number 1, the Kenner version is the greatest playset of all time! Just curious if you have ever heard of the Woman's Day magazine home made play sets. In 1978 the magazine came out with a few different plans you could build, with help of the parents. These are absolutely amazing! Check out the star wars collector archive. They have the article there. Also check out the number of vinyl cape jawas in the pictures. There is also an empire strikes back version Woman's Day did a few years later.

The only thing that's missing from my Dagobah playset is the swamp foam and the R2 adapter cylinder. I paid $71 for it. I got my Ewok village 100% complete and getting an extra speeder bike in there with it. I paid $80. I'm hoping to get a hold of the Death Star playset from my dealer before summer ends. Love the PoP rating scale system. :) Good idea. Thanks for the video

I'd like to see an Andor droid builder set. Would be easy to make. Would have several droids from the show, and pieces could be combined to make other droids not seen in the show.

I love these playsets....so much charm and creativity involved. They are kind of what made SW toys unique. Definitely deserving of your awesome videos. Thanks again for making these! My #1 is Dagobah because of the play features that were like little magic tricks. You felt like you could help Luke learn to use the force during playtime.

You know my views on the cardboard backdrop playsets, but I was wrong to skip the Cantina playset at the time. I was dismissive without need, and now I wish I'd have got one! I'm not sure how well it would've survived the 40 odd years until today, although my cardboard Palitoy Death Star didn't do too badly all things considered! 😁 Loved the Droid Factory, finally got a boxed complete one in the 90s just for the 3 legged R2, I never built any of the others! An uncut pipe, too! (no sniggering at the back) 🤭

Can understand why the Kenner Death Star is no1, if we had that in the UK, I REALLY would have wanted one. I do hold alot of nostalgia with the Palitoy version though and based on what was available over here, I too would have made this playset number 1. Great video Joey, hope all is well buddy!

i collect because i got nothing else to focus on. my poison is retro video games at first i wanted just nostalgia n games i had as a child now i venture off into must haves then discovering new games i never knew or other people recommend then it becomes collecting everything and anything. it is an addiction i feed the addiction because i have nothing else in life to do. as for star wars i am actively collecting star wars games.

Received this one for Christmas when I was 9 years old. Was central to my games, and often combined it with a Miconauts playset called Monorail City. This just has so much going for it, sturdy when it's constructed, multiple pay areas and really good art. Always wished that I had more troopers to populate it with. Sadly, my set is long gone, but not the memories of enjoying it so much.

So rad that you had this as a kid. I have heard a lot of collectors say they would be pleased if Hasbro created a set or a mod to this. What do you think?
@bosskbounty3 күн бұрын
@@thepadawancollectorofficial I think it'd be a good idea. Wouldn't take away the value from the original, but it lets people have a set in their collection for display.

The Turret & Probot Playset plus the Imperial Attack Base were my jam as a kid. I no longer have the T&P set for some reason, but I do still have my Imperial Attack Base. I played with it with my kids when they were little.

@@thepadawancollectorofficial Thanks! Some great memories. Sadly, they're both teenagers now and not interested in hanging with the parents. That's OK, though, we oldsters will spend time playing the Star Wars RPG.

I really hate that the Micro Collection "flopped." They were some of my favorite toys as a kid, and I used the figures I had left for roleplaying miniatures when playing the classic West End Games Star Wars RPG.

Yea I wish they would have gone into the return of the Jedi. I had some when I was a kid and I bet we would have gotten a throne room, Jabba scene, and Endor scene
@TheOldDragoon5 күн бұрын
@@thepadawancollectorofficial Oh, that would have been so. Freaking. Awesome. I had so much fun with all the Micro playsets, but most especially Hoth World. I loved the base, the turrets (TWO of em, thank you very much 3.75" line) and the main reactor. Somehow, I ended up with like, three Wampas. I also did the mail away for extra Rebel troopers and Snowtroopers.

Stoked to be able to watch this video back to back with part 1. Being a channel supporter has it's perks 😉 Truly enjoyed this two-part series recap from your Playset run. A great way to bring it all together in an interesting & entertaining way. A+ Your "Durability" comments were really on-point. Somehow I lost parts like crazy as a kid. And cardboard components, forget about it! 😅 I found it interesting that your playset list (numerical) wasn't necessarily 1:1 with the POP score. But I agree wholeheartedly with your choices & reasoning. 👍 SW playsets are amazing! Loved this run and seeing which topped your favorites list. Can't wait for your next run. Let's Go!!!

Love the grading system you created for this series. A great recap of the playset run while giving these all a bit of added flare (with your comparisons). Your #10 - the Cardboard Cantina, was a solid finish to part 1. It's truly a gem in my collection too. This series so far....5/5 POPs in my book Joey. Looking forward to part 2 and the top 10. 🔥
