I remember seeing a catalog back in the 80s-90s that sold cannon plugs, all different sizes and pin amounts. (I was in the USAF at the time, so I was interested in electornics etc). I'm sure it's available online, but haven't looked for that stuff for decades, well before the internet came along. If you can't find authentic cannon plugs for those holes, if you can find a description of them they may be available new. The catalog wasn't military, it was for civilians. I actually had a pair of PRC-510 radios which had been surplused out, and we (my friend and I) were able to find a plug that fit inside the battery box and got the radios to work!!

I knew you were in the AF before you even said it. Using Cannon Plug to describe any cylindrical screw on electrical connector gave it away.

I'm not 100% but, I think the B36 is the only Recprocating Engine Aircraft to have Reversible Props. It's common on Turbo Props but, I think on Reciprocators it's quite the challenge to make a Prop Control that can change the Blade Angles all the way from the Feathered Position to a Reverse Position 🤔

Nice, I'm building a small ultralight and I can relate to the shop mess, high humidity, and working on things all day. I'd like to also add that my house has lots of swarf here and there that gets tracked in from outside. 😁

You should use some blue machinist dye and spray it and then block sand it. Then bump out the low spots, then hand file it and block sand it flat. But i suppose you could also use filler.

The B-36 located at Castle AFB had been located previously at Chanute AFB, Rantoul IL. It is a RH-36, the only one of that kind left. This is Amazing a true labor of love.

I live in Fort Worth...I remember as a kid going to see the B36 on display at the greater Southwest Airport....when that airport closed the B36 was moved to Lockheed across from Carswell AFB....and from there it was attempted to be restored...the front fuselage was often displayed at Carswell air shows....and of course sadly the B36 was lost from Fort Worth

Just an observation - leave it. If it's in place and you can't move it, there's no need to engineer something to hold it in place.

I most likely will as I’ve got many, many photographs of the real aircraft and I can’t see any indications of fasteners….or anything that would indicate something is pressing down on that aft end of the fairing.

Try a floor adhesive, such as for linoleum. You'd need to clamp the end seam in place until cured. An alternative (if not better solution) would be a two part adhesive (like they use in boats for laminating wood). Test it on some scrap and if successful, then do the new part.
