I’m 39 been bow hunting since 13 , started out shooting fingers then index release for past 20 years, switched to thumb release last summer and extended my range and accuracy a lot! Only modification is you have to move your peep site that’s it!

I live in Colorado and I hunt and it's about damn time that they do this they need to do more they need to eliminating some seasons and get rid of all the over the counter bull tags for rifle all the units should be a four-point restriction we've been saying for years that the elk numbers are just not what the state claims at least in the area I hunt which is South Central you just don't see the herds like you used to or even the Bulls Colorado claims the largest elk herd in the west they also count the elk in Estes Park that you can't hunt the elk that are in dinosaur monument that you can't hunt all those elk part of their count it's deceiving at best

I haven’t been able to test it out walking through thick brush but outside of the brush the features of the pack like the zippers, buckles and frame aren’t too noisy. In my opinion if you are dragging any pack through the brush it’s going to be excessively noisy though. I’ll see if I can do a noise test compared to my other packs and get back to you

Literally just got home from shooting 6.8 and 300 WSM back to back….100, 300, 500 and 600. About the fifth time for this. Browning X-bolts with silencers. Hornady 200 gr ELD-X vs 165 accubonds . Hunt elk every year and got the 6.8 with the intention of swapping over. Not easy in my mind because 300 WSM has 3 bulls down over 450 yds. One at 670 although I don’t think I want to repeat that. That being said, in short, swap complete. complete. Everything you said, yup.

You bring up an interesting point. It's one more technological advantage put onto a growing pile of them. It's similar to bow sights that range and tell you where to aim. It's basically a crutch for a poor hunter. Ideally, everyone should have to learn the hard way.....by becoming a good hunter and not relying on their technological do-dads. It's called fair chase.

I think we as hunters should stick together. Average hunter is getting older and older every year and if we allow things like this to break us apart we can easily be the last generation that has the opportunity to hunt in the first place.

You are free to feel however you like about location marking technology and I understand the concern you've expressed about the unfair advantage it might provide in stalking and chase. But unless you're into purely primitive hunting, the sport is overwhelmed by technological advantages. compound bows, carbon fiber arrows, optical sites, advanced camouflage, VHF radios, Gore-Tex fabric, tree stands, range finding (in general), firearms, gps, night vision optics, drones, etc... All of these are used in hunting and provide significant tactical advantages over natural prey. Seems pretty weird to worry about this one thing but none of the others. Pin dropping technology provides significant positive aspects to hunting. It increases hunter safety by helping users navigate unfamiliar terrain and find their way back to base or to safety points. It also provides significant ethical improvements in wounded animal location, an ethical concern we should all share.
@Recruitcreative
@Recruitcreative 8 күн бұрын
All valid points! I felt a bit hypocritical in only bringing up the rangefinder and cell cams. At the end up the day it’s up to the hunter to decide what they are comfortable with or not so banning these probably isn’t the right move. I think as hunters it’s our responsibility though to ask these questions when products like these are released. I want the next generation of hunters to at least consider fair chase and ethics before making a decision. That’s where I’m coming from. Thanks again for the well educated comment though. We appreciate the feedback!

Learn how to hunt instead of relying on tech to hold your hand in the woods. Many of the things you mentioned are illegal for hunting in Colorado. Radios, drones, etc all illegal for use in hunting. It's not fair chase and to many real conservationists, it's borderline unethical. If you need tech to keep you "safe", maybe hunting isn't for you.

No. You can do this with an app on your iPhone etc. what’s your point? So you’re saying it’s not ETHICAL to simply mark where you’re objective’s at which you can do without the rangefinder. Do you not use technology in the clothes you wear, the food you eat, the pack you use etc. It’s just marketing and at the end of the day, you still have to hunt and make it happen! CHEERS!

CPW is like Las Vegas, they know your chances of killing an elk, let alone a bull average around 5% if your from out of state. They will take your money all day long. A lot of factors play in. Weather, pressure, intimate knowledge of unit your hunting to name a few. Lived here and archery hunted elk all my life, (I’m 61) and the elk have become very weary and less vocal in the last 15 years due to over pressure. Roll the dice if you like. Good luck!

I purchased my Yeti Tundra 65 in the spring of 2021. I threw out the collection of coolers that I accumulated over the years and wanted one quality cooler that could for years. Three years of summer camping later, I can say that I made the right choice. I get 3-4 days of ice retention with an ice block in 100 plus weather. I watch other campers head out to buy ice every day.
