At the back box on each side is an electrical connector. Just unplug them both. Cover with insulation tape and tuck up out the way. Open valves full time

Great drone footage here! I was out paddle boarding on a high tide the other day and ended up helping the RNLI rescue a car that got stuck which made for an interesting video! 🌊🚙🏄🏼

Why are the authorities not putting an end to this dangerous nonsense once and for all by raising the level of the causeway way above the high tide level & why are the people who live in this area not campaigning for this to be done ? Do they derive pleasure by committing these dangerous acts? There may be costs involved but in the long term would be far less than that caused by the salt water damage to vehicles & the endless drain on the emergency services who have to resuce those & their vehicles who get caught out by the tide.In my opinion & that of the majority this would be money well spent & should come out of the national flood defence budget which is for this very purpose.

You dont even have to disconnect the exhaust valves connectors, just turn on car, go to dynamic then select individual ,then go back to dynamic and you exhaust valves will stay open all the time, just repeat every time you start car.

@@Denis_Klim not straight off no, but if you follow the procedure I mentioned they will stay open in dynamic mode all the time, been doing it for 3 years

Spring tides are higher. In this location it means it takes longer for the road to clear.

Simply buy a Tide Time Table....and arrive at the Strood at least one hour before high tide......simple !

Nice work! What do you think of the downpipe now? Still love it? Did you notice much power gain? I ordered one from Redstar Exhaust and will be doing a full review on it. I love the idea of disconnecting the flaps though.

How did you complete this mod? I have a B9 S5 and would like to do the same. (And does the car throw up any errors/warnings if you do so?)

HI, Scott. On both exhaust there is a flap, on the drivers side back box it is just before the exhaust enters the back box. On the passenger side it is right near the exhaust tips, on top of the exhaust. Both valves have a block box with a small Electrial connection, simply press the small grey button in and disconnect the cable from the black box. If you do this with the car engine and ignition switched off, you get left with both valves always open. I then wrapped electrical tape around the ends of the cables and cable tied them up out of the way, to try to prevent water getting into them. You get no error messages on the dashboard, but there is an error code logged on the ECU which Audi will see when they plug in. But by going from other threads on here they don't seem too bothered. These valves are not there for emissions purposes, but to ensure the exhaust passes EU noise regs when idling and city driving!!
