Hi! New subscriber here 😊 It was so nice to watch your video. Really enjoyed the little shot of your shelves with your Hobonichi goodies on at the start. Usually planner videos are just top down so it was so nice to see. LOVE your little free creative A6 journal and plans for it. And that cover is soooo good ❤ I didn't have budget left after the main release for the spring release beyond one notebook which arrives tomorrow, but loved the artwork they chose for that release! I also loved the clear, calm way you explained your thinking and it all made a lot of sense to me 😊 Really hope your anxiety eases soon. Have you tried morning pages? It really was a life changer for me and my anxiety. Ok will stop rambling now and looking forward to seeing your printables if you do them, and your mid year review video (or anything else! Am trying to not put pressure on, as pressure is such a creative mood killer) 😊x

What courses are there for me to learn drawing proportion, anatomy, perspective, and traditional and digital art? And with 2d animaton? I want to be a comic artist and sonehow also learn how to animate. Multimedia Arts was my first choice but I'm scared that it won't focus on learning how to draw and illustrate that much and focus more on editing and logo designing, infographics, and stuff.

This honestly helps so much. I’ve been seeing so so many videos saying art school and a degree in illustration isn’t worth it. It really got me down since I’ve always dreamed of it. Even though I’m in America I feel as if your tips and advice are universal.

You don’t have to be an amazing drawer to do illustration right?
@sydneyharp19894 жыл бұрын
BANGTANS BELLASS Trash Not really it’s a range but maybe you should say artist instead of drawer
@mslightbulb4 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily, because there are a lot of techniques other than drawing within illustration. You don’t have to be amazing, but drawing is the foundation of most visual arts. I (and my high school art teachers) recommend that you draw everyday. Because it is a very useful skill. Constancy and quantity is better than quality when still a beginner/middle level, you will improve faster and learn naturally. Also drawing what you see is very useful. Still lifes, quick drawings of the bus, your hand, the elderly sitting at a bench etc.

Love this video! I always wanted to go into art but got massively put off as I thought it was an unrealistic career path but I’d love to have my own Etsy store and make prints and things so I’m looking into studying illustration at uni, luckily I have the requirements to get in, but I’m soo stressed about the portfolio as I never studied art at college, do you have any tips for the portfolio?
@aprillucy-qt9iz4 жыл бұрын
Oh I'm completely with you here ! I love an adore art but never took it in college or secondary, so the whole portfolio thing is a nightmare for me, idk where to start or even if art is a viable career path i want to go down 😅🌈

Hey everyone! I'm considering doing another one of these videos, but a more 'updated' version where I review my second year of studying illustration at university. I feel like it would be really helpful to include a Q&A section at the end of the video, therefore, I would love if you guys could leave me some questions here in the comment section or through my Instagram (@minaillustrations). I look forward to hearing from you guys and I am excited to be more active on here :) Mina x

What uni did you go to and do you wish you went to another art school?
@marija5 жыл бұрын
Did you do your foundation year at a college or a uni? Just wondering because we only had a few options for specialism and some people didn’t get to pick. Xx
@minapomelo5 жыл бұрын
I did a foundation year in another college. If I'm honest though I didn't get an infinite amount of options either (I wanted to try out fashion and I didn't really get the chance to). However, it did make me realise what options were out there and made me more mature / prepared me for University. It also taught me how to be more independent during projects. Keep in mind that all foundation courses are different and you need to look for the one that suits you best! I hope my answer was kind of helpful, if not you can always drop me a message on instagram and I will try to answer it better :) xx
