i dont think this will have much effect, zinc and aluminium are too close. Aluminium is less noble than stainless, you think zinc will avoid the aluminium to be the anode for the liner? Not sure on this. You got to update us on this over time 😊

You are not wrong- I would have preferred an aluminum anode but could not find one the right size...but even so, figured it was worth a shot

For what it's worth, most outboard engines are made of aluminum and have zinc anodes...the zinc is about 30% less noble than the aluminum

If the ski spends long periods docked in salt water an anode would be a good idea, but seeing as the time it spends out of the water is significantly longer than the time in, I don’t see it having any benefit at all. It’s only going to protect when surrounded by the electrolyte(water) Certainly isn’t going to hurt anything by putting one on 😊 I see much more benefit coating the pump in crc soft seal (permanent waxy coating that dries to the touch) to stop the corrosion that happens when the ski is out of the water.
@JDsWaterWorld
@JDsWaterWorld 4 сағат бұрын
The harmful corrosion actually forms between the pump housing and the wear ring / pump liner so cannot be treated externally or by spraying pump body. The only hope would be that while the ski is in the water the anode will prevent corrosion inside the liner...

This is INSANE. Awesome video as usual JD. I could see this if it were a bad pump but replacing a filter? Although I’m new to jet skiing (four years) it seems the likely hood of getting bad gas which might necessitate a new fuel filter is not that uncommon???? Man, I’m rather concerned for my (new to me) 2022 lxs. Keep up the good work sir. This particular maintenance repair is soooooo far out of my skill set and I suspect my dealer (1 hour + away) would have it in the shop for quite some time and the expense would be brutal.

thanks for posting this. i'm about to pull the trigger on this plate and this video was very informative. 1 question, i am always after better mpg. cause i do long rides, i notice a significant difference in mpg when i'm in ocean chop vs flat bay water. i think maybe because the bow is so low that it causes too much drag as it hits the wave basically going through the wave vs over it (i can feel the 310 slow down a lot when i hit a wave vs my yam fx svho) you probably didnt test but you think it is reasonable to assume it help mpg?
@JDsWaterWorld
@JDsWaterWorld Күн бұрын
If you stay around 45 mph or below you will get max MPG. The plate does help the ski plane faster so theoretically you should see an improved mpg assuming you aren't mashing the throttle and have the ski in LPO or MPO and are cruising with the ECO light on. It's a great plate- I have a second video coming soon- decided to take my pump wedge off and do some speed runs with and without to report differences

I removed the speakers when I had to do the wire harness recall and then have not put them back yet. The speakers worked great, and didn't give me any issues at all. I don't really listen to music all that much out on the ski, but for someone who does, these are a great option. They don't have the bass that the factory system has, but it's a trade off if you don't want the giant pods on the footwells

Hi JD! Wondering about the top speed on the 22-24+ 310,, stock? I am unable to get it pass 65MPH @7000 rpm with my LX-S 2024. My 2016 310 used to get up to 67 also stock. I have asked around and searched and seems like 64 mph is the speed the majority of users have experienced, however some say 67-68. Doesn't seem consistent. Thank you and great channel I truly enjoy all of your videos.
@JDsWaterWorld
@JDsWaterWorld 2 күн бұрын
That is 100% normal range for stock 22+ 310. The speed limiter will typically kick in around 63-65 mph..sometimes you can spring it up a bit more but the governed speed is supposed to be 67 mph. If the gps signal is weak or there's a good current you can spring it up higher. When you are at your top speed, scoot as far back as you can on the seat and you will typically gain 1 mph on all ultras lol. With a tune alone you will typically be able to break into the low 70s and 15 psi boost
