I hope bill is still well! I recently read about a 91/92 year old, friend of wainwright who went up to haystacks with mountain rescue i think. Amazing story, this reminds me of that so heartwarming taking the time to do the rehab walk for someone. Bet it means the world to him. Visitors to the top of Moel Famau will walk past the Jubilee Tower. Built in 1810 for the golden jubilee of King George III, the ruins can be seen for miles around. It was originally a three-level obelisk, but a row between the architect and building contractor meant it took ages to build. After being badly damaged in a storm, the base was eventually made safe as a viewing platform in 1970. It's now a listed building, offering incredible views across the North Wales and Cheshire countryside.
