Do I need OEM for the lines between hard plastic tank lines and the filter? I see they have a special L fitting on the end. The wall of the hose looks thinner on the L fitting side as if they want to force me to buy their special lines. Nevermind, figured it out: The hose isn't thinner, it's all the same. You can remove the hose from the L fittings. They have special low profile spring clamps which are proably meant for a special tool. You could use a hacksaw. I managed to get them off with PEX clamp pliers. The tubing was adhered to the barb from being on there for 20 years. I carfully used a screw driver, pick and pocket knife to pry and cut the tubing off. Luckily with a long and patient process I only did a minor bit of marring on the plastic barb fittings leaving at least two of the barbs fully intact.

This is now in my real time July 23 2024. My 08 Super Duty 6.4. With only 136K miles has gone through a rear main seal and are down a front plate Re&Re water pump etc... Stock Rad Re&Re and now a mysterious coolant leak. No sign of leak, drip, puddel, exhaust, oil, or coolant contamination. But it is low every day🤪🙄🤔

If oil temperatures get above 15 degrees above water temp will it decrease power? Mine is about 190 water temp and 288 oil when towing up a mountain. It will usually go down to a crawl near the top.
@paulsperformance29 күн бұрын
@@38vsix I hope you meant 208 for oil temp lol. But yeah it should eventually throw a wrench light and depending on pcm program it will likely start to derate
@38vsix29 күн бұрын
It was 288, had the ford tech with me with the laptop hooked up. It never has set a code for it. He is going to replace the oil cooler but still wasn’t sure it would fix the extreme loss of power at the top of the mountain. Pulling 7000lbs and will max out at 29mph on a 7%grade.
@paulsperformance29 күн бұрын
@@38vsix 288 is extremely high so the cooler must be plugged. It was likely derating because of that temperature.
@jordangiesbrecht0526 күн бұрын
ouch if u hit 288* oil temp u pry cooked ur injectors not to even mention everything else in ur engine
@philthyphil332421 күн бұрын
The engine will defuel if the oil temp gets too high, i believe it starts to defuel around 250 degrees, and 288 is way too high. So yeah, that absolutely will cause the truck to lose power.

Did you do any adjustments on your steering. I've acquired a shorty as well. My steering has got quite a bit of slack so it's. Little squirrelly on the launch and on wet roads
@paulsperformanceАй бұрын
@@doctor41baller no steering remained same as with the long bed before. I did have to add the traction bars tho to help with keeping it straight. Especially with the added power but even when the engine was stock it still needed the bars. Def would recommend them
@doctor41ballerАй бұрын
@paulsperformance may look into that then. I was going to see about tightening up on the steering box if I can get to it, see if it helps. Just don't want to over compensate on steering if I need to react quickly. Thanks for the reply!

@@doctor41baller yeah it could have a worm out box but fords tend to have a little play in them. Not a lot though. May be time for rebuild or a new box.
