Fascinating, thank you. My teacher’s teacher was Kudaka Seiki, who was a student of Kyan. He did not teach me this kata, unfortunately. I must assume he didn’t learn it from Kudaka. Sadly, my teacher passed away a few years ago and I can’t ask about it. I am curious about your interpretation of the leg swing movements. Thank you!

Excellent demonstration of empi by lady karate black belt, perfect for a women’s self defence especially at close quarters against (probably) a male attacker not knowing she is a karate expert having the element of surprise to unleash lethal strikes from many and various angles targeting a mans vulnerable unprotected areas, all women should take up karate, don’t you agree ?🥋 oss

Excellent demonstration of self defence using her lethal black belt karate techniques from Sensei Judy, especially powerful empi chudan, followed by tetsui or shuto to his groin, I teach this very technique at my dojo, I would follow through with empi to his spine, finish him off with kakatogeri to his ribs, all women should take up karate ! the benefits are unbelievable, don’t you agree ? oss

A kyan kata powerful and well done.The shitoryu modified altered version looks weak.Original Okinawan way is the best.

There is no “original “of any Kata in the literal sense..Kata as performed in any particular Okinawan system has some differences in execution depending on lineage,school ,etc .And from individual to individual even within a particular school..
