Late to the show...Congrats on your second FJR! I have owned an 04'model for 10 years and absolutely love it. I bought mine with 14,000 on the ODO and after many multi-state touring trips have 42,000 now. This is one of the fastest, most comfortable and dependable bikes on the market, but of course you know that. Enjoy that bike; I know you will 😎

Like all used FJR's, the 15 year old air filter has melted foam end "seals", the original spark plugs just stop firing sometimes at mid-range engine temps, and the rear end oil should have been changed a decade ago. Also the previous owners never lubed the throttle cable much less the rear end pivot points. First step as always is to flush the brake and clutch lines of that 2008 fluid before riding.

Didn't notice any of what you're describing when I went through this one. Having been through some 20 bikes in the last 30 years are so, there are as many types of owners as there are models of bikes, but YMMV. This one is a gem

@@Bobrob51The last FJR I bought a few months ago was a 2012. It was never ridden in the rain, always garaged, it looked and smelled new inside & out like it was stored in a perfect time capsule. Owner seemed anal about taking care of it so I bought it when he got a new one. Problems only were visible when pulling things. YEARS was the problem, not miles or weather. That, and it looked like the dealer did not lube the axles when it was assembled and they both had corrosion! Gorgeous, but always do a full service before riding any used bike so that it will be reliable.

Yep, learned that DECADES ago. Still, this one's a gem and zero regrets.

@@Bobrob51Great! Honestly I've NEVER seen one of these that actually had the ABS bleed properly or the pivot arms lubed per schedule. It's the little things that get ya...

Just upgraded from my 06 FJR to the Gen3 13’ AWSOME bikes. Had 108,000 miles on the 06. Zero problems!

I've got an 08' brought it home and instantly rode 6,000 miles probably one of the best bikes I've owned. It'll flat cruise at 90-100 and still get over 40mpg

Hey, I just saw your videos on my recommended page and I just realized you bought the car I was about to go look at, I;m 16 looking for my first car and I really love the g-bodys, and the cutlass. I don't know what color you're gonna paint it but I think a jet black would look really cool. The only thing that held me back from the car was the title and the work needed. I'm from the cape and If you ever sell it I would be very interested, best of luck on your project and i'll stay tuned to see how it goes.

Very cool that you were going to check it out! I'll be painting it tomorrow so stay tuned!

aaah man if i could just nerd out for a moment . still has a functional smog pump , cruise control and , delco electronics radio with auto reverse , power locks - power windows ! If you can score r12 for the a/C online somewhere that car is ready for the road again. r134-a is what people go to but r12 will freeze you out ! dont mind it having the 3o7 under the hood , makes for decent mpg's if you stay round 55 or 6o . definitely a clean fisher body you have here. looking forward to future videos. ive seen deLco-remy distributor kits too by the way if you're the type who keeps their GM ALL GM 😎

The conditions were dry and very manageable. It's a very pretty Road, just make sure you have the right truck and skill level to do the entire thing
