Well said Shane - you are so right - as an accountant, I can honestly say that the majority of us are not trained to be able to use our technical knowledge to extract the relevant financial information required to manage a business looking to the future, rather than looking backwards producing historical information, which is what most accountants do - and unless they change quickly, many will be out of a job, because software will do their work for them - luckily there are a few of us in the accountancy profession who have retrained to get the skills and to use the software required to produce a relevant management dashboard and to help business owners and managers to understand what is relevant to their future stability, success and ultimate sale of their business
