RIP Mr Cadenhead. My Uncle was at the battle of Iwo Jima, 5th Marine Dvision, a Sergeant…he rarely spoke of his experiences…we knew that he had to seen the horrors of that momentous battle; we never asked questions. RIP.

With all due respect to the WW2 Veterans Generation. The Greatest Generation is the Revolutionary Independence War Generation along with the War of 1812 Generation. They fought under the threat of being executed by hanging by the British monarchy. The Independence War Generations fought under many harsh primitive conditions without any modern technology-convinces. No toilet paper, showers ,no electricity, and no modern, medicine, heating, shelters, food clothing, transportation or modern weapons and equipment to establish and sustain America as an independent country. The Independence War Generations are the "Greatest Generations"!

DeJoy’s goal is to ruin the postal system and then say it’s so broken it needs to be privatized. Biden should have figured out a way to get rid of him or neuter his powers the minute he got into office.

Just came across this documentary, so many memories I don't live in the south anymore 😞 but Okefenokee lives in my heart and mind daily I look at my phone and remember my last visit two years ago and yes 44yr old.man cried his ass off when I got there and harder when I had to go home. I told my wife when my last day comes and goes I want part of my ashes scattered in the park. Anyway enough about me Okefenokee Joe/Dick Flood thank you !! For your guidance and teaching us all about the majestic swamp we call home. Rest in peace 🕊️ and may you continue to watch our Okefenokee

This man’s story is typical of many of our heroes of WWII. They came home and tried to forget the madness and terror they experienced in a homeland that could never understand the psychological mental anguish they were replaying in their minds. Someone up there looked after him and his story should make us all reflect and appreciate his sacrifice for our country.

Remarkable how all that wealth originated in a technology developed in England and transferred to America in the form of two railway engines & track exported to the USA, rapidly copied & exploited all over the continent!

Preventative care is best, not what can we do in aftermath to clean up a mistake made by foolish or careless choices. Parents could talk to their kids who think they are ready or make enough to have sex. If parents are thinking abortion is the best option for their children who come of age to have sex, in case they get pregnant, that is very sad. If my mother had talked to me about sex, that would have made a huge difference. Parents talk to your kids before the time comes that they're thinking about having sex.

This is terrifying, beautiful, vulgar, poignant, touching, disgusting discouraging and encouraging …I don’t know what to say. After his generation came the boomers, which split and revolutionized, and then a new gentler generation that was followed by a gung-ho adrenaline fueled generation, until we get to where we are now, who are peacefully standing away. How do we judge, how do we teach, what can we say? No idea. But this is a valuable upload. One of the best I have ever heard, and I have heard a few. I just wonder what this man must have made of Vietnam and protests and Afghanistan and Iraq etc. what he thinks of these guys that dream of a life as a Navy Seal etc.

I wasn't actually aware of that. I thought officers could resign their commission and get out of the service. That was good he chose to quit; his experience in the air was enough for him and the crew was better off. My Dad was on the B-17 and I was a jet eng mech on the B-52 Gulf War. I recently met a gentleman who was on the PBM I think it's called... a sea plane. He was floating on the water while battle raged on Iwo Jima; they did search and rescue when needed. He is 100 yrs old. A friend of mine who died in 2004 was a Marine at Iwo Jima. I love this small story can't hear too much of them.

Many people don’t realize that you were not forced to fly. If it freaked you out, you could go on to other (though I’m sure very shite) positions within the Army. Keep in mind that this was the USAAF prior to the USAF. Uncle flew B24s.

Hey everyone! Before we dip into this history of our Nation, let’s make sure that we all understand that Republicans and Democrats have different views and political goals, views, and values that we see today! Just because you saw a post that you liked,or you decided to listen to your professor five minutes before class ended, doesn’t necessarily make your opinion irrelevant,or respected, but please keep an open mind while discussing topics related in our history! I scratch my head at both sides on here with people saying things that are clearly wrong and hearsay. I’m from south Mississippi. I’m not on either side. It’s a horrible war that could’ve ended before it even started.

Why did this "documentary" sanitize the purposeful decision of the North to totally destroy everything in the South, to carry the war to the civilians? Military history students learn that it was the North's policy of "Total Warfare" to destroy everything, which was the first time in military history that this was officially enforced. Never once did this "documentary" use the term or even elude towards what was the North's goal and objective, to destroy everything like Barbarians would do. I believe the Russians tried the same thing in the Ukraine recently.

As far as I’m concerned, Grant was a murderer and sent to Humboldt county California Eureka to wipe out peaceful friendly Indians He killed hundreds. In the 60’s I met some of the ancestors that Grant slaughtered telling me the truth of what happened. He was a crappy president and drunk most of the time.
