This classic song verse/chorus/bridge-wise unstructured with male and female lead vocals and three part-harmony-lyrics over it... a great pop song! With singing about the great life as Swiss Mountain Farmer, call the cows, how great it is to life here up in the mountains, every day something to do, and hully gully in the evening after the sun went down... Hoi!

@Frank Brus The version heard in this video was never released as a single, just a re-recording that was made later on. Guy Lombardo's cover of the theme, released in 1950, was a major chart hit, so was Anton Karas's original version (solo).

Sorry about the poor audio, but at the time I only saw that the concert was on at the last minute, so the only seats available were in nose bleed territory, obviously a long way from the band. I recorded a concert by Peter Cetera at the same venue but in front of the stage, ten rows back where the sound, while not great, was much better. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hLGoa699tKfYiZ8.html After the Doobie Bros concert I was actually reluctant to post any videos from the concert, but when I looked at the videos a few days ago, I thought they at least showcased their great musicianship and rapport with the audience.

Im 63 years old . When I was young I never liked Doug's version . I never thought it compared to the Beatles . I loved his version of ever lasting love & still do . One of my brother's said it was better than the Beatles . It wasn't till all that long ago I came to appreciate Doug's version . One of my other brothers had it in his 45s collection . I transfered it to USB . Now all these years later I have come to realise just what a great version it is . RIP Doug ❤😊 Sydney Australia 🦘 4/6/2024

Fy fan jag ryser in i benmärgen......
