They are saying the same words for : clouds and sky, stars and moon. They cant be the same words. Its not a proper translation. Just say sky if the word is sky.
As a little tyke in Texas, this was the first .45 record I ever bought. Still LOVE IT!!! So very sad the way Kyu Sakamoto passed in that plane crash!!!! R.I.P.

Today(August 12, 2022) is the 37th anniversary after the death of Kyu Sakamoto. I found on KZfaq his last voice and singing before his tragic death on the same day. The public recording of NHK-FM radio ''Song Special - Kyu Sakamoto'' occurred in the afternoon August 12. 1985. Kyu-san was the host and main singer of the show. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/os96daRpqau1nXU.html The same kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ja6qjcZ0nbjUcqc.html Too tragically and sadly, Kyu-san died in a terrible airplane crash only a few hours later from the radio show. Thank You! Thank You!! Kyu-san!!! for your beautiful songs and your countless gentle, brilliant smiles!!!!! R.I.P

This song was very popular when I was studying in college, so it must have been released originally around 1969-1970, which shows how old I am. My best friend to this day, Akira, explained the meaning of the lyrics, but we Americans simply liked the sounds and melody. It seems that a Japanese acquaintance some years ago told me that Kyu Sakamoto was on board the Boeing airplane that crashed into a mountainside in Japan due to a broken stabilizer. Maybe someone can tell me if that's correct (or Wikipedia). Thanks for making this entertaining video and for appreciating this wonderful song.
