I got one and its absolutley surprising me in a good way. I purchased the AGT QH12R with the R420 15 horsepower motor 2024 model. I paid $5500 from a local dealer I found on facebook marketplace, who buys them in bulk and sells them as a dealer. I recommned buying two 7 inch cooling fans to bring in air to keep the engine bay cooler. The 420cc predator motor from harbor freight fits perfectly in these things, so if anything ever happens to the motor its an easy replacement. I installed hinges for the back hatch to easily access the engine area. This thing has been a godsend for maintaining my steep gravel driveway.

Great summary! You confirm my growing opinion about size. I gotta say, though, 14:00 is normal safety procedure. All ground contractors I have ever hired put their buckets on the ground during shutdown no matter what equipment they're using. And if they let me operate it's the first direction they give. It's like handling a gun... muzzle down until you mean to shoot. The roll-bar discussed at 15:00 is not a roll bar. I'd have one made and properly attached if I ever got one of these. I've had roll bars for drag cars built. It's not that hard. At 15:30, I'm thinking I'd get a 2 ton Diesel for my property for exactly the same reasons you cite. I think the 1 ton's capabilities would be a disappointment with my property. Thank you for your summary!
@jtw2a
@jtw2a 2 ай бұрын
That is good to know that the standard procedure is to put the bucket down even if they have a safety on them. Never know when something like that fails. If I end up keeping the unit I may have some rollbars welded on. The 2 ton Diesel is where I would be shopping if I decided to part ways with this one. It would do all the work I need fast enough where I don't feel like I am stuck doing something forever. LOL Thanks so much watching and taking your time to comment. It is very much appreciated.

Tree roots are a bit difficult with the machine. It does not have the weight to hold the machine down. It has a lot of strength but you start tilting forward. I have one of the land clearing videos published that shows the stumps I was pulling out with roots. I ended up digging along each root strand until I could yank it free. I kept doing that until I managed to pull out each stump. Depending on the size of roots you encounter this could take some time.

I depends on what we are talking about. 1 year in the sense of a machines life cycle or actual runtime, probably doesn't mean much. In a sense of me using it for all the work on our property and other projects and giving my review based on that it probably does come out alright. I am not 100% sure on the exact hours since mine did not come with an hour meter. It always feels like you worked more excavator hours than you really did. Taking brakes, filling up gas fixing things as you go can make it feel like you put in 10 hours in a day but in reality it was closer to 6 - 7. If I had to guess probably somewhere between 100 & 200 hours.

When I buy a cheap Chinese product I realize that I am buying a base, a platform that I will have to build on. It would be near impossible for me to build the base at the price I am paying, but I can fabricate from there. It would be nothing to put a fan in the engine compartment, or beef up anything that is weak. But I do all this because I can't afford the Unions or the bureaucratic bullshit the US government puts on businesses and their products. If you can afford paying $30,000 to $70,000 for a machine, go for it, but if you are poor like me, buy that cheap Chinese product and build it back better using their platform and understand what you are in for.

Very good review on the machine. As far as the cage that you call a roll bar, I don't think that is considered a roll bar. Think roll bars have to be certified. Normally if a machine has a roll bar you would use the seat belt. I have heard from operators that if a machine doesn't have a real roll bar then they say you don't want to wear the seat belt. Been looking at the minis and looking forward to buying one at some point in the near future.
@jtw2a
@jtw2a 6 ай бұрын
Thanks :) I don't think this frame is certified but if it was certified to their standard I still would not trust it. I am not sure about the seatbelt and rollbar situation how I feel about it. Not using a seatbelt and falling out in a tipping situation doesn't sound fun. The risk of the unit landing on you would be very high. I am not so sure it can actually roll when it falls over. It is so tall with that frame. I think staying in the seat and holding on while it falls over is probable the safest move. Now if it does roll it would be bad to be inside the unit. Either way, something I am highly avoiding :) Wishing the best with the purchase, I am sure you'll love the mini. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

No, having seen these fall over, that is a canopy... as in you can replace it with a pool umbrela for the same safety factor. They are intended to give you a limited shade working during the day. But yes, that is why the very cheap seatbelt. If the machine is tumbling, you want to be able to jump clear, because when it goes over, that weight will be on top of you, with nothing protecting you. As you pointed out, fit and finish are basically unherd-of in Asian or Lat-Am machines... I lived and worked in Brazil... and they assume you will spend about 1/4th of your time on maintaining it. My ex-service friends get along best, because best practice is a walk-around and service once every week or 2 to keep it from dropping something or breaking, just like their mil-spec gear was. Thread glue and grease are your friends.

Great video. I was wanting to use the same mount but I seen some videos where the raised ridge on the roof would let the mount set properly. I know that your issue was dish not fitting but when you had the mount on the ridge (looks like yours is raised a little) would that mount have worked if your dish did?
@jtw2a
@jtw2a 10 ай бұрын
Yes, the mount is raised a bit when you mount it to the roof. The reason for that is the width of the part that holds the Starlink. The ridge is a bit wider than what that part of the mount is but that was not much of an issue in my opinion. If my Starlink would have fit it would have worked just fine. The four weights that come with the mount will hold it in place. They are very heavy. I like the idea so much that I will be building my own version of the mount. I hope that helps. Let me know if you need any other info and thanks for watching.
