Just a tip for anyone practicing these for the first time. Draw the first two or three(they probably look terrible ik🥲), pause the video, stare at them for a while to understand how the lines work(why they curve and meet at the middle), draw them over and over again. The goal is to actually understand how they work by studying and copying, both work hand-in-hand. Try other rotations as well, applying the same formulas. Then continue watching or even start all over. Don’t be in a hurry. I hope this helps 🫶🏽

I wonder, does the artist draw animal autonomy? I'm interested in learning it to stylize later. Just recently stumbled upon a couple videos, and this is one I clicked on. I love watching the figures form from simple shapes, and these videos are so refreshing. I understand the shapes pretty well, but I admire the 2D animation in the cartoon movies we watch, which sometimes involve animals. I was hoping to learn the simplification of the autonomy of different types of animals ....
@Kkdrawsomething
@Kkdrawsomething 22 күн бұрын
@@thatbookgurl_2 Hi! 😊 I don’t draw animals as much as I draw human figures. But it’s using the same constructional forms idea, that you can construct anything based on boxes, spheres and cylinders. I recommend Joe Weatherly Animal Drawing book!

@@Kkdrawsomething , Thanks for responding. I have to check out this book. In this meantime, have you any tips of stylization of human firgures?
@Kkdrawsomething
@Kkdrawsomething 6 күн бұрын
@@thatbookgurl_2 I would memorise the generic proportions of the human figure first and learn the anatomy landmark. Then I would try to play around with the exaggeration of proportion, for example try drawing a figure with 3 heads high upper body with 2 heads high lower body, instead of the generic 4/ 4 upper lower ratio. Also, look at different stylized character designs and see how we can learn from it too.

lol I kinda visualize a bending or twisting sponge in my head as I draw. If its hard to visualize this, you can try to draw 2 opposing angles boxes first, then connect them together. The corners are much easier to spot. Like these kind of exercises - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/guCHmc2Sz5mWZ30.html

@Kosin-zs9il That’s also a good start to draw from reference! Once you have enough visual library in your head, that makes imaginary drawing a lot easier. It’s hard to create something out of nothing. Once you have “input” all these drawing practices (could be from reference and that’s ok) in your memory, you will find imaginative drawing a lot more fun and intuitive.

@@Kkdrawsomething thank you! I'll wait for your next videos. For early/beginner, how to get used to using head as measurement? Did you use stencil circle each time you draw ? If I eyeball the head measurement, I keep drawing the next head measurement (for body and leg reference) bigger (not consistent with first head measurement) 😭
@Kkdrawsomething
@Kkdrawsomething Ай бұрын
@@michas4740 Yes 😄 stencil circle if you need to. Or just use your non drawing hand thumb and index finger to measure it across the page as you draw the pose. For example the waist is around the third heads high, so you can drag across that measurement 3 times with your fingers to gauge where the waist ends. 👍🏼
