Stay in California, or move to a less populated state like south Dakota. We don't need more people in Georgia .

i have no money to move, never owned a home, but we want to leave california because there is no medical freedom here, the pediatricians are also NOT flexible, they all have government in their pockets and when the pandemic hit, I should've known it was time to move but we roughed it out... but now, with our children, we want to move to a state that has more religious freedom and not so tyrannical. So, I am mentally preparing myself to move, and contemplating taking nothing with me but our kids and our paperwork and just buying new furniture in the new state.

Sometimes I think that’s the way to go! Just sell everything and replace it when you get to your destination. If it’s going to cost you $20,000 to move cross-country, you could probably replace most of your furniture for that.

Do you pay the earnest money after the owner accepted your offer?

Yes. No money is due unless the offer gets accepted and you move forward with the purchase.

I plan on moving out of state when I retire in 3 years. I am doing my research now. I plan on taking most items I own. I will have a yard sale when I get to my new place. That is how I will get to meet people in my new community. I will pack my items myself.

I'm worried that we'll have a lazy appraiser and he'll just use comps. I live in the country and also most dont have big fancy houses. Mine is not fancy either but its pretty nice with some acreage. When I look online I only see one house in my area thats comparable. Now you're telling me the appraiser works for the lender!

We recently moved from mid Michigan to Lost Plantation in Rincon. The town is kinda small but a well situated location. Surprised Rincon didn’t make the list.
@georgiacoasthomes
@georgiacoasthomes 2 ай бұрын
It’s still a great place to live, but it was not one of the absolutely expensive. I now live in Springfield, but I lived in Rincon for many years myself. I love this area! I just wish we had more sit down restaurants. The last thing we need is another fast food chicken place. Looks like we’re getting a Sushihana over by tin fin soon!

@@georgiacoasthomes coming from other states including a short time living in Long Beach CA. I’ve noticed the infrastructure and retail is very limited in this area to what I’m used to. Especially transportation. But that’s kinda what makes this area so special. And other than the traffic it’s what people want. Totally agree on the restaurants. Luckily Savannah is a short drive down 21. I go to Savannah just to eat and hang out probably once a week. You just can’t beat historic Savannah

We’re moving there and just as you said, our realtor was in Guyton, and we asked about a house in Metter and Statesboro. We saw houses on Zillow and Redfin, that our realtor wasn’t showing! She mentioned there being a different or separate MLS.
@KarinCarr
@KarinCarr 2 ай бұрын
Yes, Statesboro is a good distance away from Guyton and it is not a part of the Savannah MLS. Some agents are willing to drive that far but I have been to Statesboro exactly one time so I would not feel comfortable representing a client in that area knowing next to nothing about it myself.

@@paulamcdonald6568 I’m glad you like it! The only reason we don’t work there is because we live nowhere near Statesboro and feel we couldn’t do a good job representing someone about a town we aren’t familiar with.

I’m in La county, California. Me and my wife are thinking about Georgia. The hard part is what county? Seems like a lot of people like north Georgia. I love the Forrest, mountains. We want to thrive in a church(not boring baptist) California is so expensive, crime, taxes, homeless are rising. Gas is high. We have crazy governors

Whatever you negotiate with your offer. There is no set amount, but it is typically considered to be a more serious offer the larger the amount of earnest money.

Talkin' about Statesboro here and why you should. First, thang is, it's "The Boro." I have lived in Decatur, Marietta, Cartersville, Lawrenceville, Commerce, Athens, and yes, Statesboro within 54 years. What I have found in the 20 years of college-town living I have experienced, college towns are great for "non-college" middle-aged types who appreciate the arts. First, they are affordable. Second, you have a great resource for activities, sporting events(Football, baseball, soccer, and basketball), music (jazz and classical with the Gretsch School Of Music), and finally my favorite consideration summers are smooth. The college kids clear out and you have the town to yourself while the coast is usually dreading tourist season. Whether you consider The Boro, Athens, Carrollton, or some other college town, it is a great option for people who want to live somewhere semi-small with a lot to do that is very affordable.

Please stop telling people to move to Ga. Most of my family lines have been here since just after the Revolution and far too many people are here now. It used to be the ridiculous biases about the south kept them the hoards away. It’s not keeping them away now and it hasn’t for decades. We are just too crowded, they need to return to New York in California and everywhere else they’re coming from. It’s not personal, there’s no room left in the Inn 😢

Those scam moving companies are no joke. Same situation - found a company that came in at half the price of the others. It was based out of Florida. Found an online article about scam moving companies based out of Florida. Texted them I was no longer interested. They kept texting and calling me to find out why. Some of their texts were even kind of rude. I flat out told them to leave me alone.
