Fonzie's proven many times over the seasons that his rep isn't just talk. I remember eps with him smashing through doors, breaking a wooden bench over his thigh, etc.

This was like my favorite scene. Bernie is probably one of the few bullies that tried talking smack to the Fonz and staring him down. He lived to regret it of course

I was 17 years old and drove up to the Paramount parking lot 1974. I said hey can I come in I'm trying to become a movie star. I said this to the guard of course. He said come back next week they are starting a brand new sitcom and you can come in and watch it for free. I said, what's it called? The guard said, Happy Days. LOL true story. I didn't go back though

He breaks his arm, is what Fonzie does. Then Bernard and Butch start bullying Fonzie after that. Fonzie tries his hardest not to fight back until Butch grabs Fonzie by the scuff of the neck and refuses to allow Fonzie to leave: Fonzie: I’m alright I’m just going for a walk. Just going for a walk Richie… Butch: I’ll tell you when you can leave! Fonzie: Uh Richie… Richie: Getem! Fonzie: Yeah… (standing up) Whoa! Are you gonna be sorry you touched me! Because when I get touched, I feel like pounding! I feel like hitting! I feel like ripping! You know, like… (completely destroys the birdhouse with his bare hands right in front of Bernard and Butch’s eyes) Now… THAT COULD’VE BEEN YOUR HEAD, GENTLEMEN! Bernard: THAT’S the guy I was talking about.

But wait, didn't Fonzie say in a later episode where he is trying to teach Richie the secret of being tough, say "Have you ever seen me hit anyone?"..I guess there was a lapse in memory for when he took "Bernard".. "it's Bernie", "excuse me, Bernard" to the parking lot.

Uh no. The episode “Richie Fights Back” was the episode where Fonzie taught Richie how to be tough was a full season BEFORE this one. The episode with Fonzie buliding birdhouses which is the one the above scene comes from was Season 4 Episode 4: A Mind of His Own. Richie Fights Back was Season 3 Episode 6.
