Hey thank you for this tutorial. It's the first time I've ever heard of this. Is it fair to say this is very much necessary for bash which doesn't necesarily deal will with this kind of parsing, as opposed to powershell or python which deals with objects a little more elegantly???

Thank you. If you have time a video on the $ sed command would be great, leading to string parsing.

You are absolutely right. The Sys admin in our department has more knowledge of programming than other programmers. But he is being paid 30-50% less salary than them. Now i tell all of my friends to avoid Sysadmins roles.

01:14 Yeah.. nice, but if I do: curl -o result.pdf www.somewhat.org it doesn't create a PDF file for me, so I have to use another program that converts HTML into a PDF.

Wow I learned two things today: -s instead of piping to tail, and there are people who use base 10 deliberately. Mind = blown.

Yooo thank you so much. I binge all your videos because they’re so useful. Can you do a tutorial on man pages? I have a basic understanding of the markup that’s used, but there’s a million man directories and I can never access my man page correctly even when I know it’s in /usr/share/man. Keep up the good work ! 🙏🙏🙏

Very important note! The grep command is very battle tested. A regex that is safe with grep is not necessarily safe to use on requested resources. Always use extra caution with unknown inputs. Use extra extra caution if that unknown input can build a regular expression!
