Hello, quite frankly, I don't see nothing wrong with this video. I'm a responsible audio enthusiasts for 28 years, and it looks and sounds like manufacturers are trying to cheat the laws of physics here. People are butt hurt about you being very honest and stating facts, when speaking about miro subwoofers from KEF. KEF subwoofers are ment for bedrooms, miro apartments, but not for larger room's dimensions. Keep in mind, that any miro subwoofers uses DSP to brings up the lower octaves up at "reasonable" levels. Without it when you ask it to play 40hz or below, it will significantly struggle. Do people really think using a dual 6.5 or dual 9 inch woofers are going to pressurized your listing space, with reference volumes? It's combined cone area or sd doesn't measured up to your larger listing rooms conditions. People really needs to accept facts, and be practical about audio gear especially towards any speakers, such as, subwoofers. People needs to understand there is a reason why subwoofers are naturally large to begin with... If people wants to buy a 1,499 us dollars on KC62, 1,899 us dollars on KC92, then go right ahead, but don't come here whinning about your dissatisfaction with your purchase.

So lucky and glad I caught this video thank you! I was thinking of a sub for years, and kept looking at RELs. But something didn't sit right. Which I guess is why I didn't take the plunge. The idea of high level never quite made sense to me, given if you are feeding it via high level, your adding delay for it to get chewed up by your amp, and then chewed up by a second amp only for the sub, where as feed it via preamp signal to RCA, you're back to one amp stage for all your speakers. Then all the ***BlinG***, all the cost of that bling. If they are spending it on ***BlinG*** they are not spending it on sound. (they are not a charity) You mentioned Dynaudio. In the end I got an 18S. So happy with it. Goes much lower fro a start. About same price. More power (underpinning the amplification). And if its good enough for studio its good enough for me. I can feel sound I cant hear. Bet the REL wouldn't do that as well.

Bought a brand new denon at a yard sale for 5 bucks because they are so hard to figure out. And the owner was sad because he's been doing the receiver thing for 40 years and couldn't even figure it out. And this is the 3rd one this year I've gotten from thrift stores and so on. What happened to denon I don't know. But it's truly sad

i think you did ok here, but i agree with other commenters. i think you should have known what type of sub to get for your particular use case. ported subs are used more for home theater and sealed are more for accurate musical reproduction. i also disagree with your "brand appeal" comment towards the end of the video. every successful manufacturer has some brand appeal & loyalty for that matter and i don't believe people buy SVS because of that. I do not own SVS, just giving my opinion. thanks for the video.

I'm curious to know if you used one bass trap or did you happen to place another on top, basically I would imagine going from floor to ceiling! Reason why I ask, how effective one large (two front corners) bass traps happens to be? Plus, for my particular room, the corner bass traps would have to be raised a minimum of 16 inches off the floor. Do you think the bass tracks would still be as effective, especially considering the elevated placement of the bass traps is to help accommodate for the subwoofers below! Cheers.
