I need Pokemon Expert help. Today i went to my LHS to buy Basketball Product but saw One lone Evolving Skies pack under the glass shelf. I asked how much they said $15. I said okay ill take it. Went home and couldnt believe what i pulled when i ripped it. Yep Umbreon Vmax Alt. Its in insanely Beautiful Cond. i did look under a magnifying Glass too. Centering is perfect to the eye. Surface has Zero white or spots. What should i do? Send to get graded then hold? Send to get graded and sell? Sell now raw? Or hold now Raw? Please help me! I am well Versed in Sports Card and grading. IMO i think this “Should” get a 10. Its so nice i would even say it “Could” even have a chance at Beckett Black label its so nice. Of course im just going by a magnifying glass & I know that my opinion means basically nothing its all Who/what Grader You get i suppose. Plz lmk thank You so much Poke’ Community. Addendum- So i dont have the Ebay Sales or Rep to Personally go that route Alone. I know even w/ a good Relationship w/ My LHS They need to make money if i sell to them. I guess where im really stuck is I know that this Umbreon I pulled & currently own is so beautiful (never played-sleeved/top loaded instantly from pack fresh pull. So therefore Personally i lf i sold i would want more of a premium than just giving the “Sold” ebay or TCG Medium Prices for todays going sales. I get they still have to take the risk and pay fees ect.. i just know that i need to atleast get 80% of current going Sales value. Ex. If selling at $900 raw then i would need $720. Because of the premium on condition. Am i being an A-Hole or is the fact of the matter that’s just not how it works? I suppose i would first have to find out how much PSA or Beckett would charge for a Single Card Submission of “Moonbreons” ??

I truly think the "modern" era is here. While I personally think that the Moonbreon will decrease a bit in price, I do not think vintage cards will carry the same value moving forward. I own a Moonbreon myself, and find the alt art cards of SW/SH absolutely gorgeous.

I gotta respect the younger generation for their love of Pokémon. As kids, we didn't have the variety available today. We eagerly awaited each new generation, but kids now have the privilege of going back and playing retro Pokémon games from their parents' childhood. Learning over 1,000 Pokémon must be a lot to take in when they aren't being introduced gradually throughout your entire childhood.

I just keep thinking about all that bulk. What a waste. Instead they should increase pull rates on mid tier cards. No one wants bulk.

The potential downside is that yes, demand is enormous now but it has to stay that high while new stuff comes out and takes away the focus. Probably with enough time stuff will still go up but it'll take a lot longer with Scarlet and Violet stuff IMO. To a point where it's more interesting, funand profitable to flip singles

We as kids had the TV show on during the daytime. It fed us engagement daily. Today kids have KZfaq and binge watching. It’ll be interesting how that changes the attachment to an IP. I believe a big part of the success for our generation to be connected was the games and tv show. I’m curious if it’s strong enough with the new games and shows.

For me this is where DC HRO have an interesting USP, in that each card is numbered so adds another layer of value.

i picked one up at 1300 not because i like the card, but because its the poster child of S&S. those kinds of cards tend to have spikey growth way into the future. i can see it dropping for a few years once hype dies down and people find something to rave about in S&V, but only temporarily. that shining gyarados you mentioned is my #1 chase and its around 7k at 10 first ed, a bit hard to justify for me rn for a single card. the giratina tho? im in love with that card, grabbed 3 at 750.

If there were 50k moonbreons printed, you would assume that's alot of cards. However, let's say there were 1 million collectors who wanted it, that 50k would only cover 5% of that 1mil if each only had 1. We all want the card, so it's not going to crash until the amount of collectors do, maybe 15 years from now.

yea the only difference is time and change of perception over time. SV era to me is perfectly doing fine but it's mostly getting hated because SWSH caused a lot of people with "chasing the stonks" mentality.

Very well articulated, this is an interesting take. I largely agree with you on this. People tend to not be interested in most product until supply starts to deplete and it starts to increase in value on the secondary market. Even I am guilty of this. I ripped open 2 Evo skies boxes (bought for 110) when they first released, kept thinking I'll buy a couple soon for the sealed collection, and kept procrastinating until the set reached above 300 and then I panick bought. I still made money but could have made a lot more had I bought earlier

Like and agree many things you said in the video, especially the part where a Pokemon investor must be financially established have a stable main source of income. Although I wouldn’t suggest viewers to rely on inflation to catch on capital investment to make their money back , just not the right approach for any investment. Yes, should their Pokémon investment tank in their holding period, initial cost would pull even when inflation rises, like anything and everything else. Though there’s the cost of time and loss of alternative investment opportunities. In contrary, inflation should be factored in the final ROI adjustment to reflect true profits. Just my 2 cents. Like your content and keep up the good work. I am 40 and a multi lane investor:) wish everyone success in their journey of investing.

I still remember the day I pulled a moonbreon, I bought the pack from Indigo (bookstore) and it was 1 of 4 booster packs I purchased because I saw Umbreon on the splash art. Have not touched Pokemon cards is maybe 10~15 years prior to that. I still have it, it's MNT Graded 10, I'm not letting it go because I love the eeveelutions, and I dove into collecting/opening more pokemon card packs since then 🤣

Nope not worth it. Hype, fomo and some manipulation. Buyout groups are very much a thing. I caught wind of a few private facebook groups doing buyouts on most of the holos back when the hype and fomo was going on with XY evolutions. As a result the singles market spiked and the booster boxes went stupidly high even after several new print waves.

Just bought my Moonbreon bgs 9 italian card, i don't care about his future value, i think it is one of the most beautiful card ever made by pokemon company and i'll have it with me for the future decades

The premise was a bit disingenuous. JLuv trying to gaslight and talk down on other people's content that he doesn't like. It was great to see everyone hash out the misinformation and teach the haters about the subject they had no clue about that they were hating on.
