Instructions in my grates said to rub an onion on the grates to season them. Funny this wasn't mentioned as an alternative?

For smash burgers, you should let the round ball of meat sit on the grill/flat top for 60 seconds before smashing. And smash down, don't "smear it".

After being in storage for the winter season I properly cleaned the grill grates. Heated the grill (Weber Genesis) to 400F and then applied the onions. Went up and down the grates 2-3 times with 2 half onions. Grilled home made beef patties and was amazed how nothing was sticking! Hopefully the seasoning lasts a while.

I wish I had this experience on my own set. I had my GMG going at 450 degrees for over a hr with the grill grates preheating the whole time. My grates were barely over 300 degrees. Tried putting chicken on in case the temp gun was wrong, and not even a sizzle. Had to use the other side of the grill with the original grates to cook it

How do you get a propane grill to stay at a 275 temp? I’ve never seen a propane grill with the lid closed stay at a set temp. How many burners did you have running?

Seems like reading ice can throw you off for calibration purposes. Water converts to ice at 32 degrees, sure. But, your fridge/freezer goes down to.. 0 degrees, right? So your ice, fresh out of the freezer should be zero... I would think.

Can I put these grill grates on top of a blackstone griddle? Is the cooking comparable to a Weber grill?

I buy everything based on reviews. Some said this was hard to put together kzfaq.infoUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt some guy said 2 hours and 2 beers later. I didn't drink beer like I was going to. I didn't feel like going to the store. I'm assuming I would have had at least 3. I took my time. Stepped outside for a cigarette break a couple times but all in all it was about a 3 hour project for me but it wasn't like it was difficult or anything . Only pictures but everything is pretty organized and labeled although I didn't see any #s on the actual pieces like it shows in the diagrams. Only the screws were labeled. On the cardboard part of the packaging on the back side. I put it together in my living room too. It wasn't supposed to rain today but it's Michigan and I couldn't wait so I put it together in my living room. Without beer but beer would definitely have made it more fun that's for sure. I'm giving this a 5 for easy assembly. I'll update after it stops raining when I can take it out of my living room and cook some food on it. Hope this helps at least for people who think they can't put this together because I did and you can too . And there are extra screws. I got nervous and immediately came here to see if others had the same experience and they have. You're not doing it wrong. There will be extra screws. Be patient. Don't rush it. Drink beer. Happy assembling

What did I do without this for so long?2 pieces of French Toast at a time ?20 minutes for 10 pancakes ?NO MOREthis griddle is awesomeTook some time to season before first use kzfaq.infoUgkxHM5jmQoi4dbb0hoWSBs9hPhSwXUbGVG_ did brunch and hibachi dinner on Mother’s Day and it worked like a charmSturdy, well built and heats up quick. burners2-4 were a little stubborn but then lit up.Great addition to my patio.Bought the cover and it’s great, also bought the accessories kit - scraper is good but the spatulas are flimsy to be honest that’s my only negative.

I just completely rebuilt a hand me down Weber Genesis Silver B. Having been a long time user of "on top" grill grates for my Weber charcoal kettle, I chose for the 5 piece 17.375" Grill Grate insert replacement kit (though I usually don't even use the slender connector piece, just the 4 larger pieces). Sure it was more expensive than buying a replacement iron or stainless grill grate, but I love how it's a modular system, and it's more efficient (so it should eventually pay for themselves in gas tank replacement) with almost zero chance of beer'30 griller like myself burning food. I love the versatility of having 2 flipped over raised side for hot dogs and certain veggies, while the other 2 are flipped flat side for smash burgers, onions and cheese.

So, what’s the best way to season them initially. Ive seen using an onion without any instructions on temperature or how long. I’ve seen not to use olive oil, use olive oil, etc.

275 where the thermometer is placed is actually about 250 where the ribs are placed - if you want to cook at 275 on the weber you want the thermometer to read at 300 or a little over - for baby backs or back ribs 4hrs is plenty of time - wrap in foil for an hour for the third hour, unwrap and finish for one hour - four hrs total - perfect every time - you may want to add more time for thicker, full ribs, or st louis style

These grates are awesome for some applications like steaks and chops. Start cooking chicken and put a sauce with sugar on it and you have a nightmare on your hands. I have about 4 sets of these and it is shocking to me that they haven't come up with something to slide through the valleys to clean these. It's a real pain in the ass.

I made the mistake of putting them on a brand new grill I thought was a good grill. Haha okay so 3 yrs later grill is toast grates are solid as a rock. Just got me a Weber really nice grill grates fit perfectly from front to back so will be able to re use. Been going threw this process deep cleaning them in my kitchen sink. Any ideas how to dry them? I don't wanna put them in a new grill till they are clean and dry. Wondering if gas range oven just heat them to about 400° for 10 min? Hope this works. Ty for the video I love to grill 365bdays a year
