I'm going to make the most of the ~35% eclipse here in the Bay Area!

I was at the last total eclipse at the river park in Salem, Or. As you said, it was amazing and I experienced the same thing, the entire park with hundreds of people grew totally silent. I wish I could go to a place that will have totality this time..

Me too. Once you see a total eclipse you want to do it again and again.

It would have been nice if the title mentioned this is mainly for people with non-phone cameras. Lots of tips for those with nicer cameras.

I am in the path of totality where I live in Texas. We will experience 4 min. and 8 seconds of visibility from 1:32 to 1:38 PM. I am not looking forward to the crowds coming to our small town, but it will be neat to see. I plan on taking pictures of interesting shadows on the ground and objects, as well as totality. I am not purchasing a filter because I felt I would only use it once in my lifetime. Thanks for the video.

sound like a great plan. Totality is when the best images happen anyway. Enjoy the show!

Very informative and well made. One remark: maybe this could have also been achieved using a camera sled. And if using more than three images one can profit from the center sharpness....

Thoughts on the 2.0 versions of the Gura Gear bags? The 30L is yet to be released, but as a bag hoarder you may have some insight? (I’m a bag hoarder too)

May i ask how tall you are? I am concerned about my hight. I am 6'3" and concerned these will be too short to properly wear the waist belt. I need the belt for hiking so removing it is not an option. I may need to go to the X50 for my height but like the look of the E35. Thanks for your video and input.

A tip for all of you interested in getting even more data with your original 4:3 ratio. There are two detentes dividing each 45 degree rotation of the lens. Put the lens in the lower 22 degree detente and shift the lens diagonally from corner to corner with the camera in landscape orientation. The upper detente will give you a 3:2 ratio. Take 5 shots total, one for the center only, that eliminates two center images when you merge in Photoshop. with something like the Canon 1DX MK3 with a 5472x 3648 pixel image, you will get a shifted image of 10696x 6789... With a Rogeti mount cage, you can shift the body instead of the lens. This is considered the best way to shift, but shifting the lens will work fine... 😎

As good as the RRS QD system is, I would need a 2 point attachment system out of the way of using the L-Bracket on a tripod. I like to keep the camera strap around my neck until the camera & lens is on the tripod and I am sure it stable. I have the Peak Design Anchor system on my Nikon strap. The Nikon strap doesn't bother me but, maybe it is because I haven't tried any others. Thanks for the vid.

I’m using RRS base plates for a couple of years now; this combined with the Peak Design strap system. Since three months I replaced the Peak Design system with the Magpul straps as all my base plates have QD inserts now.

Good suggestions. Thanks. I received my v4 anchor links yesterday. For my Fujifilm xpro 1, I used the approach of using dental floss and it worked well for me. Then I did the same on my Panasonic LX100 but this time I need apply more strength to pull the anchor link through. I am happy now.

Nice work, Mason! As I posted earlier, I use the Fujifilm X-System for my landscape and product photography. I have obtained pretty nice results by using the very sharp Fujinon XF lenses, combined with a good tripod, good post processing, and image stiching. However, Fujifilm doesn't have a T/S lens, and I'm at the point where I wanted to see how much better (sharper) my panos could be with that type of lens, especially as I have large format view camera experience decades back. My question is, which system (Canon or Nikon) do you think would best serve my needs for very sharp, high-quality images for printing large? Thank you sir!

Can’t you just get a head that shifts the camera? That way you could use any lens for the shift.

Hello from Hillsboro. Great video. I want a TS lens for miniature effect and for combining images like this. And for real estate/landscape city stuff. The Samyang for Nikon one is around 630 dollars. It is worth it in my opinion. Thanks for tutorial.
