99% steelheaders float fish. What you are doing is trying catch walleye with a jigging spoon? Snagger!!!
@jimlahey3919
@jimlahey3919 4 ай бұрын
Lots of steelhead fishermen throw spoons. Especially in big, wide rivers where the fish are scattered and you can make long casts. Come to trout run in Erie pa. Half of the guys are using Cleo’s and other spoons and catching tons of steelhead. And I’m not talking snags or foul hooks.
@reeldinoutdoors1999
@reeldinoutdoors1999 4 ай бұрын
And what makes you think that my guy? Not everyone floats for steelhead there is several different methods to catch steelhead and 1 of them is floating others is to cast crank baits, casting spoons, bottom bouncing beads, bottom bouncing spawn, floating spawn, floating beads, blade baits, fly fishing for them, the list goes on my guy so don’t be commenting if you don’t know all the methods of catching fish and I ain’t no snagger brotha man yea a few fish were foul hooked but that’s bound to happen this time of year in Muskegon river. (Walleye are loaded in the river) but anyway my guy I hope you have a blessed day and tight lines!!
@Skank_Hunt42
@Skank_Hunt42 4 ай бұрын
@@reeldinoutdoors1999 if you were using a traditional spoon/spinner that requires a steady retrieve then it would have been alright, but throwing a vertical jigging spoon ripping along the river bottom for "steelhead" looks like snagging to everyone watching you my boi...
@reeldinoutdoors1999
@reeldinoutdoors1999 4 ай бұрын
@@Skank_Hunt42 I totally understand where your getting from and am not disagreeing with you but I can assure you that im not out here snagging nor the methods I use is even considered snagging but you have your opinions and I have mine I honestly wish you the bestest day and tight lines brotha!!! It's obvious you are an inexperienced fisherman, especially when it comes to river and streams, so I won't be too hard on you. But you basically killed every fish you landed on my home river, I have to let you know, don't be lazy, always have a net on the river and streams, no flopping fish on bank, and always wet your hands.

Im from michigan and i dont call them that. Its michigander ignorance like labeling freshwater drum a junk fish. I hear many michigan fisherman trashing any fish that isnt perch or walleye specifically, in michigan. Lots of crap talk about catfish too. Lived in Texas and Missouri for 14 years combined and both places call them drum or gaspergou. Now Texans do call pin fish perch so they have the same problem with a different species. @reeldinoutdoors1999

@fallengods92 I grew up in the 80's and was told to dispose of them by some of the old guys I was around. They said they were trash fish. Now I know people that eat them. They are really fun to catch, especially the big ones, and they help keep the invasive species in check. I always catch and release them now.
