Hello. Such a beautiful trip, very well filmed. Is that a 2-stroke Vespa? If so, how was it buying oil and how far apart were the petrol stations? Did you have a lot of spare parts with you and did you use them? I love Vespas, I drive a 25-year-old NRG 2-stroke.

Very nice trip … how difficult was it to enter Morocco with a 50cc ? Did you need any papers , insurance, carnet de passage etc?
@duive013 ай бұрын
Not difficult at all. I just had to fill in a form and show that at customs, just like you would with a motorcycle or car. No carnet needed and my insurance (from the Netherlands) covered Morocco.

Hello! I also became the owner of a Vespa LX 50 2T, 2012, with a mileage of 300 km! I really liked the video! I also wanted to ride a moped across the vast expanses of Russia. They are not registered with us and insurance is not needed, there are no speed limits yet and you can remove the factory limiters for driving at 70-75 km/h. All the same, this is an honest 49 cc, and not like the Chinese mopeds that are sold here labeled 49 cc, but in fact 150 cc! Of course, it’s not very good to travel on a two-bike bike; the piston can jam from a long ride at one speed, but I hope the Hiper2 engine from Piaggio is more technologically advanced than, for example, old Soviet motorcycles with which I had constant problems during operation.

I am a motorcycle mechanic in Australia and I can tell you that vespas are the most hated brand in Australia, they cant handle the heat, long distances, or high speeds, Honda postie bike are 125cc and are near unkillable, check out honda c90 adventures he rode one all over the world
@duive017 ай бұрын
I did ride 519km in one day with this 50cc Vespa so long distance is no problem. Personally for me Piaggio/Vespa seats are a lot better. In 2022 I did ride with this Vespa to Turkey and it was almost two weeks 35+ degrees Celsius so heat is not really a problem too. And high speed is not why one would buy a Vespa (or even a Honda 125cc). I agree however that Honda is a more reliable brand than Piaggio Vespa. But I don't know why you wrote this reaction. Do you want to sell me a Honda or something like that?
@thekebabman87027 ай бұрын
@@duive01 I don't have to sell you a honda, you stated that honda are so much more reliable than vespa, the Italians should stick to making pizza, pasta and wine and leave motorcycles to the Japanese. When you look at some other Italian brands like fiat ( which stands for Fix It Again Tony ) and the less we talk about alfa Romo the better, we can see that they are not worth a cup full of warm water and Ferrari are a mechanics worse nightmare, overrated and under engineered.

Wow, I am surprised that a bloody vespa 50cc made it that far ! Normally vespas are know for their ability to breakdown and never run properly, my hat is off to you sir !
@duive017 ай бұрын
I had to replace the starter motor just before entering Morocco. But at this moment my Vespa is almost dead. But that is because it is so hard to find a proper mechanic here. It has 78000km on the clock right now. I think the newer (4 stroke) Vespas are pretty reliable.
@rickute14587 ай бұрын
@duive01 it is only hard to find a proper mechanic because no one wants to work on vespas, the two stroke 150cc had a good motor but the electrical system was designed for smooth roads, soon as you started to hit a few potholes it would start to fall apart
@duive017 ай бұрын
@@rickute1458 why wouldn't anybody want to work on a vespa?
@rickute14587 ай бұрын
@duive01 well buy yourself a workshop manual for you bike and do a few things on it yourself, you will quickly learn that nothing is easy access to any part of the bike, you have to take off other parts just to gain access to the area that you need, valve clearance access on you bike is a nightmare, replacing rings and piston is easier to remove the whole motor from the bike, even replacing the rollers and belt in the transmission you need to remove half of the plastic body to gain access
@duive017 ай бұрын
@@rickute1458 on my bike only replacing a sparkplug is almost undoable. I get your point.

My German is not so good so I answer in English. I drove from Holland to Spain (Benidorm area) in 2017 and parked my bike at a shop for the winter. In spring 2018 I went to Morocco. In fall 2018 I drove around Spain and Portugal. In spring 2019 I drove the Vespa to Holland again. In between I took a bus to and from home. This Vespa has an 8 litre tank so good for 350km. But also in Morocco you'll find fuel at least every 100km.
