Paddled the grand canyon for the first high flow test in 96, there were whirlpools all over the place. Some 50 feet in diameter, sit on a low brace and watch the water rise above you, then come back up downstream. Most of us were in high volume boats, one guy in a hurricane was burying his nose every chance he got.

Just received the word today of Brens passing. What a shock! Truly a loss to our paddling community and to the world. Though I never met him in person. His videos, tutorials, advice and the occasional chat on line. It was clear he was a young man who knew how to live. Soaking up all life had to give, and giving as much back in kind. You will be missed brother. But your spirit will continue in those who loved you and those you inspired. Myself included. You’ve crossed over that last horizon line. May the adventures you discover beyond. Be as amazing if not greater than those you discovered here. And when I cross over someday, we will paddle together on that stellar river of sparkling unknown adventures to come. See you on the other side.

Wasn't aware of this guy until someone in my kayak group mentioned him. Now I see this video in my feed. Rest in peace.

He has made some of the best paddling content out there. His videos are definitely still worth a watch.
