Defoliating works for many species, deciduous or evergreen, as does pruning back spring growth
@thebonsaiarea7 күн бұрын
that is correct what you say, what I want to say is with this technique you get a good back but that is my experience, thank you for your message

@thebonsaiarea12 күн бұрын
@@omarsartawy1674 depends on where you live here in the Netherlands where I live I do it late in the spring April May you can also do it earlier but be sure to keep it free of frost in a green house after repotting

Why are the leaves white? Fungus infection?
@thebonsaiareaАй бұрын
yes, or mildew, the Deshojo type has this around me and sometimes also with Shishigashira and Arakawa, the regular Acer has less of this

Nice tree! I’ve never worked with Korean hornbeam. Do you partially defoliate these trees? If so, at what point in development do you start applying it? Thanks for sharing! 🙏🏽 🪴 🍃
@thebonsaiareaАй бұрын
Yes, a very good species for bonsai, no, I never defoliate them because they have good bud back. This tree is still developing because I cut and grow! and that's a long process longer than if you wired them up
@emmanuelmidulla760Ай бұрын
Bonjour, belle démonstration 😉. Quand avez-vous effectué la taille de l’arbre? Jusque quand peut-on faire la taille? Merci

thank you, you can prune deciduous trees at the end of spring to mid-summer. Thank you for visiting the channel
@acer_p_bonsaiАй бұрын
I’m contemplating your strategy with the partial defoliation in this early stage of development. My assumption is that you are comfortable developing this forest low and slow for a more natural look. Do I have it correct? 👏🏽 🪴 🍁
@thebonsaiareaАй бұрын
Yes, that's right, this strategy usually works well for me Acer, I will soon have another Acer that I have repotted, but it is a tree in refinement, I use a different technique, you will see😃

@thebonsaiarea4 ай бұрын
Yes, that's right, I don't like wiring in my roots. I keep them out of the wind after repotting and that usually works fine
@acer_p_bonsai4 ай бұрын
This is a great looking clump! 👏🏽 It seems to be the general consensus that wooden boxes work the best for development of shallow rooted trees. I also like the convenience and look of large terra cotta water sauces with drilled holes. They work pretty well due to their breathability and are fairly attractive. Gotta be careful in winter that they don’t freeze though 😅 Thanks for sharing! 🙏🏽 🪴 🍁
@thebonsaiarea4 ай бұрын
Yes, this is one of my favorite acers, especially because of its small leaves. Yes, that's exactly right, it works great for development in the winter I think wood actually has an insulating effect. I think the glaze pot retains water more and freezes sooner. always good, thanks for tuning in acer_p_bonsai keep growing🍁

Some experts say August / September is a better time in the UK , what is your opinion with white pine repotting.
@thebonsaiarea4 ай бұрын
It can be done around that time, it can also be done earlier. It is important to keep the aftercare after repotting out of the wind, keep it moist and do not let it dry out if it is in a sunny position.
