That was a huge swell at Ocean Beach. The waves were breaking miles out, the entire great bar was breaking. Curious to see what Bolinas looked like. Was a W swell.

Agreed...someone tickling a terrier's testicles on TikTok is more interesting than 9 abreast Hawks blasting over the Golden Gate in a once in a generation visit from the Red Arrows. Strewth. They couldn't even be bothered to take a video for TikTok. Back to the testicles....

I set this mule up when the Museum first opened the mule needs someone to look after it. The operator is not a spinner. The holding out catch is set wrong allowing the mule to drift back of the head. This will cancel out some of the draw or stretch achieved by the difference in delivery of the yarn from the rollers in relation to the speed of the carriage.

After her apprenticeship ended, she continued to work for the Gregs for the rest of her working life, as to be fair, for their time, they cared a damn sight more than most mill owners of the age, and in exchange they paid her a fair wage and let her live in Styal Village.

Yes i remember Esther! When we were writing our play for the Mill we came across her story in our research! No one knows whether she actually got away or perished in the land around the mill. I'm glad to be on the same page as you as most people think i'm 'crazy' haha i'm surrounded by sceptics! x

When we visited as kids the name 'Esther' bothered me from the moment I saw the building, then as we were shown round on the tour, lone and behold, a girl called Esther worked there. She was one of the girls who ran away, she was a strong spirit in life, so no doubt a strong spirit in the spirit world too.

It is, I visited here as a kid and I knew straight away there were spirits in this area, and in other areas of the mill. I've seen ghosts, both human and animal, since I can remember. It doesn't bother me, but when I say to someone 'this place is haunted' I am usually met with 'I know' :)

Some people may think things like that are coincidence or illusions or tricks of the mind, but being there...it was frightening and very real.

There was also a clock, that was broken, and occasionally it would start ticking on its own, usually when we walked past it. Our scene was set in front/behind this machine. The gliders were always tucked in though when we were rehearsing, so that there was space in front to act. The morning of the first performance we arrived and the machine had moved out over-night and was broken and couldn't be taken back in. We had to re-arrange our scene for a different part of the room.

We had a number of props go missing never to be found. Particularly there was a rubber ball in our scene, which would often disappear from where we left it then suddenly be on the floor in the middle of the room. If the ball had rolled off the shelf, we should have heard it bounce across the wooden floors - but there was never any sounds - one minute it was where i put it, then the next it was on the other side of the room.

When i was in the room on my own one night, i think i saw a lady wearing a bonnet behind one of the machines on the opposite of the room (in this shot on the video), so i went closer to see and as i got closer she disappeared. The temperature was also all over the place, it would be boiling for 10 minutes and then it would be so cold i could see my breath in the air, and apparently cold gusts are a sign of spirits etc.

I was in a spooky play that was performed in the mill a couple of years ago. We had to spend a lot of time there at night rehearsing as well as when we performed the plays. The scene i was in was set in that room. So i spent hours in there at night, sometimes alone and lots of strange and weird things happened.
