I have no idea how did no one catch on to this but i think i get why does Speckle have trouble remembering. During the bridge, we can see that Speckle is younger in the analog side (at least i think theyre the same person). He burnt pretty much all the documents during the entire ending. Now if you were to look at the first verse carefully, you can see traces of burnt documents. If we were to link them together, it is likely that Speckle burnt all the memories that hurt them, only to try and recollect it later. But by then, the memories were long gone
