Sounds like chambered body.

@@zaprodaju1661 you know, I don’t think this body is chambered. The FGN Les Pauls are pretty hefty in weight so that’s what I’m guessing. To be sure you might want to contact FGN directly.

TIL that in 2024, there are still basically only four solid-body electric guitars: Strat, Tele, Les Paul, and Jackson. Oh, there's the occasional Flying V or Explorer-but those designs are also at least 60 years old. No headless guitars. No fanned fret/multiscale instruments. No new pickup concepts or even designs. Can it really be that the drivers of guitar innovation are all focused solely on new finishes?
@jwguitar

The guitars in this video are just a sample of what was at the NAMM Show. There were some multi scale guitars there and some headless guitars. Believe it or not it took me two full days to see the entire exhibition. There was alot!

@@alexbasson I’m not sure if you saw any of the other NAMM videos. However, lookup Ruf guitars, Cream Guitars, Landscape Guitars (those were absolutely stunning), there were some amazing boutique builders that I saw there as well. Tagima Guitars from Brazil (which I Included in the video) makes some interesting multi scale basses. I am hoping to get some of their more interesting models in stock.

@@jwguitar Already I'm interested in what Ruf guitars is doing. The designs are conservative (yet another Jackson clone) but their materials and composites innovations are super interesting. Reminds me of what Ken Parker was doing with the Fly. We need more of this in the guitar industry. Thanks again for the heads up!

Silly question, but what would this style of playing be called? Whenever I just look up “jazz”, I can’t find anything like this. I love the chords and melodies played together. Thanks in advance!
@jwguitar
@jwguitar 11 ай бұрын
I would categorize this style of guitar playing to be solo jazz guitar or just simply “jazz.” My personal definition of jazz is taking either a popular song (in this case) or an original composition and play it with a swing feel (emphasis on 2 and 4) and then improvise (create your own melody) over the original chords of the song. If you notice I am simulating a walking bass line to give it that swing feel. While I didn’t really improvise over the chord changes of this song (I just played the original melody), I did kind of play around with the displacement of the notes. Certainly, if I was performed this song live, I would improvise over the chord changes a few times. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
