Have you ever put them in a fire pit? And if so did you have issues?
@halloweendecortodiyfor86662 жыл бұрын
I have not. If you put these in a fire pit you are taking a chance. Concrete has moisture in it and like a log with moisture, it will POP when heated. So shards of hot concrete could come flying out of the fire. If you want the kind that are safe in fire, you have to use the refractory cement, which I have also done, but is much more expensive.

@@halloweendecortodiyfor8666 thank you! We saw some selling for fire pits and wanted to try our hand at diy...so now we know what to purchase...thx for answering us back so quickly! 💀❤

If you want to use them in fire pits use refractory cement. Just be sure and let them dry out for a long time.

The paint idea came out great I've done four with plaster of paris and they came out great. So what kind of cement do you think is the best to use? I'm gonna be doing some just wondering before I go get some. 🤔
@halloweendecortodiyfor86663 жыл бұрын
The concrete mixes were all pretty close. The mortar was not a good substrate to use. Plaster would probably be a good one, but I think it would be more costly than concrete. Good enough for one or two, but not 20. Let us know if you get better details with the plaster, like if the teeth come out of the mold complete. Seems like I've posted this reply before,,,, hmmmm.

@@halloweendecortodiyfor8666 Thanks for letting me know. I've done a few in cement once I got the mix right no issues so far. It just took around three days to completely dry.🤔
