I’m working on a solid model, creating curves, but none of the curves lineup to each other, at different depth different angles, there is nothing flat or square about this part. It’s all radius, angles fillets. I’m having a problem with the edge curves.

Love the content and your videos have helped me a ton. I would love a video diving a little deeper on tool axis control. Specifically on the creation/generation of wireframe “lines” to drive a tool in tricky 5ax spots. I’ve had some luck but I’m not sure if I understand the mechanics of creating the extra geometry for the “lines” section.

Wonderful! I do however want to see chained direction being enforced. Most of the time “deburr” is going conventional and most would prefer climb. Is there a setting I’ve been missing? I sure hope there is. :-)

As always, Mcam bringing us useful tips. I recommend the Streaming Teacher channel as well.

Thank you @magaraoleandro! We are always happy to help people understand Mastercam's features better. Fun fact: Streamingteacher was actually our sister company for 18 years! Streamingteacher's videos and webinars were made by us until we sold the company to SolidProfessor last year. So if John's voice sounds familiar, now you know why! 😉

12:30 why would i need to ramp in in this example? Looks to me like it could be entered from the outside.
@themcamnw
@themcamnw Жыл бұрын
Hi @ipadize! In this example, we're using the stock option, which limits the containment option to "stay inside". You can get around that by using a larger containment boundary, but we were trying to show the difference in helical entry here, so that would defeat the point to come in from the outside. But yes in this type of scenario, I would probably try to overdraw the containment and give myself enough room to enter from the side if possible. Thanks for the question!

You know what’s really helpful, is to slow down when making this tutorial so others can see what your clicking on and where, in order to understand what you are doing. Not everyone is a Content expert like you, and some of us are playing catch-up to current versions of MCX like myself. If you want us to watch your content, slow your roll. 😅

@@themcamnw I machine mold cavities. In some cases the water line goes partially trough a pocket for cooling. Most of the pockets are machine with surfacing so i need to create a surface on the partial water line. It can be a bit of a pain. I was told that you can go into modify and remove the geometry. Also I was told that there is a way that you can bring the solid work info into the master cam then go into solids and turn off the specific future. I am running master cam 2022. I not sure if can send you the solid file i am talking abot

What if my solid extension is parasolid. ? Is that still know in feature history ?
@themcamnw
@themcamnw 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Hein AZ, No, you would not see the feature history, as Parasolid file types come in as "dumb" solids (a solid body without any feature definition or history). However, any additional modeling done in Mastercam to the model would have history. I hope this answers your question!
