Ah, a fine video. Thank you ! I have still been pounding my Damar, but I love this idea. I'll just need to really control the heat plate I'm using. (I haven't found an electric skillet in France where I work.

Can you paint candles you plan to burn with this? Or is Encaustic paint flammable or toxic with the melting resin?

Great video!!!! Just as an alternative tip; filtering just the damar gum first and then adding the beeswax has almost no wast at all!!!

HAve you ever used a hot air gun? I do something similar but with acrylic inks and shellac. I think I need to try and incorporating encaustics to for my paintings. Super cool.

your tutorials are great-but would much prefer NO music in background. it is very distracting

OK i botched this...I started mixing the wax in like you did in teh video and reduced the tempurature but the damar was still toffee like after i added the rest of the wax. so i raised the temp agan and the wax and damar was still not separated and began to smoke(i was freaking out here) until it fully dissolved...what did i do wrong?
