I've been fortunate enough to install this ending into my PC version of LIS, so that when I play the game this is the ending which takes place and the futures that the characters get to have. If the day should go to grey, then dare to dream a rainbow. For that what the heart desires, the open mind transpires.

It's truly painful to witness the narrative opportunities not explored or realised in LIS which could and would have made the game so much more balanced.

Dear nilgun4338, thanks for your inquiry. The creation of this alternate finale took about 3 months from start to finish. I'll outline and simplify the basic steps I took, so here goes. Firstly I did my research in order to ensure that the contents and structure of the ending that I was creating adequately reflected the contents of LIS. (I wish DONTNOD had done this) I tried out several different screen recording software to obtain the raw video of the game. This footage was edited in an open source program but since then, and for a long time, I have used Power Director having tried many other editors as I found this to be the best. I searched the internet for appropriate new music to use and found an excellent KZfaq channel KOETHE who had created some excellent LIS inspired music. Having compiled the video into the finished mp4 I then used another program called Bink and Smacker to convert the file into something that the game engine which powers LIS on a PC. That file was installed into the LIS folder hierarchy on my PC so that when I play the game and get to the end, this is the finale which takes place instead of the trainwrecks that DONTNOD attempted to pass off as legitimate conclusion to LIS.

DONTNOD would have us believe that Max could take a photograph of damn near everything in Arcadia Bay, except the one thing which would've made a difference: A photo of Nathan threatening Chloe with a gun in the ladies room at Blackwell. This way for Max to fix the timeline and save Chloe is so painfully obvious that I can't help but feel that DONTNOD must have some serious contempt for the players of it's game.

The character of Doctor Eldon Tyrell states that his company's motto is 'More Human, Than Human'. Perhaps this alternate finale can be described as being 'More True, Than Real', given the 'hot mess' as one respected review described the 'endings' presented in the game.

Apparently in some desperate attempt to bring some sort of legitimacy to the intellectually dishonest and morally bankrupt endings they attempted to pass of as reasonable conclusions to LIS. The circular false logic of the disenfranchising diktat that DONTNOD forced upon players at the end of LIS would be laughable if it weren't so offensively disrespectful. DONTNOD made a mockery of themselves as there's no meritocracy to be found in earning that most dubious of distinctions by snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. The contents and structure of this ending was arrived at after considerable research in order that it best represent the most statistically probable resolution to the game. This is the finale that the players of LIS deserved to be able to earn for themselves. This is the futures that characters deserved to have. How DONTNOD ended up crafting a plane crash on top of a train wreck and calling it an ending I can only attributed to a combination of arrogance and/or a complete failure to understand the comprehensively established rules governing the functioning of games inhabiting the time travel fiction genre. Even the story involving the characters of Hermione Granger etc with an enchanted watch, a time turner, go it right in the Harry Potter novel 'The Prisoner of Azkaban'. So there's no excuses. I'll always remember one well respected review describing the end to LIS as being '...a hot mess...' as I've always wondered if that coded description for an excrement based euphemism that they weren't allowed to publish. I'd have worked with DONTNOD, Deck9 and Square Enix for free in order to resolve the mess that's been made of the LIS time line. I don't think I could make a more generous offer than that.

I understand the function of the mechanism of choice demonstrably better than DONTNOD. The function of choice is not the removal of options, via DONTNOD's circular false logic, but rather in the act of choice itself. Thus I chose not to choose either of their 'choices', instead I chose to choose a different choice, this alternate finale. I will not play any gain which labours under the foolishness that there's any acceptability to being forced to choose between two things of equal value when were entitled to both.

DONTNOD made such a independently demonstrable mess to the structure and endings of LIS that they have earned the most ignominious accolade of having snatched defeated from the jaws of victory. I remember one well respected review of the game describing the endings to LIS as being '...a hot mess...'. I've always taken that description as a stand-in for a more colourful metaphor that editorially they were not allowed to use. A big hot mess of we all know what! LIS was sold to us as a choice based game, as in plural, as in many, when in reality it's a 'choice' based game, as in singular, as in one choice only. As it stands the game of LIS is intellectually dishonest and morally bankrupt. Which is a depressing and disenfranchising reality for a game which initially enchanted its audience with its story and characters.
